Millwood Designer Homes is unveiling its latest development, Lillybank in Battle, with an official off-plan launch on Monday 12 July.

Surrounded by East Sussex countryside, Lillybank is bringing 50 new homes to the historic town, with from two to five bedrooms. Set alongside gently sloping lawns and a collection of mature trees, they will benefit from a carefully considered layout that blends with the surrounding locale.

Philip Brown, sales and marketing director at Millwood Designer Homes, commented: “We are looking forward to launching our newest collection of properties at Lillybank in Battle. Combining the space and tranquillity found through living in the countryside, with the convenience of having a range of amenities within walking distance, the homes at Lillybank are carefully located to provide future residents with the highest quality of life. With a combination of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses being built, as well as a variety of internal layouts, we are certain that these beautiful new properties will appeal to a variety of buyers.”

The town hosts a variety of independent shops including Jempsons supermarket, eateries and cafes, whilst a Tesco Extra is located just a few miles away in St Leonards-on-Sea. The Chequers Inn, a 15th-century coaching inn, provides a range of food and drink just a 26-minute walk from the development. The schools in Battle are renowned locally for their excellence, with Battle and Langton Church of England Primary School rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and Claverham Community College rated ‘Outstanding’.

Lillybank is also ideally located to take advantage of a plethora of weekend leisure activities. Within Battle itself, the historic Battle Abbey and Battlefields host a museum dedicated to the events of 1066, as well as annual events such as a Guy Fawkes parade, an Arts and Music Festival and a Medieval Fayre. The Observatory Science Centre is a five-minute drive away in Herstmonceux, offering the opportunity for children and adults alike to have fun with science. For those hoping to hone their skills on the fairway, Sedlescombe Golf Course is a seven-minute drive away. The wider Sussex area has even more to explore, as the nearby towns of Eastbourne, Hastings and Rye are well worth a visit.

There are plenty of beautiful outdoor spaces to explore in Battle. Kingsmead Open Space is planted with wildflowers, while Marley Lane Open Space hosts a basketball court, five-a-side football pitch and a children’s play area. Battle Great Wood is also nearby, offering routes for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders through acres of conifer trees. Just five miles away, the seafront at Hastings allows for calming coastal walks along the beach, and maybe even a quick paddle in the sea.

Despite the rurality of its location, Lillybank’s residents will have access to excellent transport links. Battle train station offers direct services to Hastings in 18 minutes and to London Charing Cross in just under 80 minutes. By road, the A21 is situated nearby, providing easy access to a variety of destinations, including Tunbridge Wells, just 39 minutes away. For those interested in international travel, Gatwick Airport is a 60-minute drive away, and Ashford International is just over an hour away from Battle by train.

Prices at Lillybank start from £345,000. Find out more at www.millwooddesignerhomes.co.uk or call 01732 770991.
