Last weekend, Miller Homes launched two new show homes at its Stoneyetts Village development in the North Lanarkshire town of Moodiesburn.
The four-bedroom ‘Langwood’ and ‘Limewood’ are from Miller Homes' latest portfolio of home styles and are the first show houses of their kind in Scotland. Styled by interior designer Eileen Kesson of Envision, they have been created in contrasting styles, reflecting the opportunities for buyers to put their stamp on their new home.
From the open-plan dining kitchen, separate lounge, and home office to the principal bedroom with en suite and dressing area, the ‘Langwood’ is as practical as it is stylish. Described by Eileen as a work of art, it's easy to see why, with its statement furniture, bold wallpapers and striking lighting, all cleverly combined to create a high impact look as soon as you step in through the front door.
A textured neutral wallpaper offsets a bold black and grey geometric print in the hallway contrasting perfectly with the Porcelanosa Smart Tanzania Silver floor tiles, which run throughout the kitchen and downstairs home office.
The warm neutral tones extend into the kitchen/dining area. The New York pearl-grey gloss kitchen, designed by Symphony, teamed with a subtle grey textured wallpaper, is further enhanced by the bold industrial-style ceiling lights, making an instant statement. An impactful geometric feature wall in the family dining area is complemented with textured cushions and accessories.
The industrial-style lighting continues into the lounge and is offset with a plush almond coloured carpet and cream sofas, making the room feel crisp and bright. Cleverly contrasting is the dramatic feature wallpaper that adds an unexpected edge to the room.
Upstairs, the principal bedroom with its own en suite and dressing area has an immediate luxe boudoir feel from the moment you step inside. Classic neutral tones are brought to life with abundant rich textiles and chic statement lights. The smoked glass feature wall adds an unapologetic extravagance.
The further three bedrooms have been styled in soft pinks and pastel blues in a clever balance of opposites. Bedroom two combines blush pinks with cool whites and soft silvers. The contemporary square block style wallpaper is partnered with statement teardrop ceiling lights for the wow factor. Soft soothing tones continue into bedroom three, with subtle wallpaper complementing the brass and glass lights enhancing the room's simplistic elegance. Bedroom four, the nursery, features a wonderfully calm stork-themed wallpaper, making the room feel exceptionally peaceful for any little new arrival.
The second show home at Stoneyetts Village is the ‘Limewood’, featuring a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and family area, principal bedroom with en suite and Jack-and-Jill en suite to bedrooms three and four.
The lounge has been styled in opulent bronze, blacks, creams, and golds, with bold artwork and oversized textured lamps, creating a warm contemporary feel. The bright and airy kitchen and family dining area has a relaxed feel, styled in soft greys and neutral tones. The Urban pebble matt kitchen, designed by Symphony, is complemented by the Porcelanosa Chester Acero floor tiling that extends into the hallway. The designer wallpaper enhances the flow in this amazing space, creating the perfect family hub.
Upstairs, the principal bedroom channels beautiful simplicity. A statement designer wallpaper is brought to life by extravagant oversized glass lamps, while the mirrored bedside tables combine beautifully with the plush cushions and throw to create a calming elegance in this room. Bedroom two has been designed in a mix of cool tones with greys and metallics. The on-trend oversized mirror creates a high impact, while the quilted bed frame is a focal point of this striking room.
Styled with a statement ochre bed and bold wallpaper on both the walls and ceiling, bedroom three is a celebration of colour, enhanced with pink, turquoise, and teal cushions. In contrast, bedroom four is designed in an understated mix of creams and neutrals, creating a calming ambience.
Stoneyetts Village is a wonderful place for families to settle down and enjoy all the fantastic perks of living just outside of the city. The development is a short distance from the M8, M80 and M73 motorways, offering convenient travel across the central belt. A plethora of local amenities provides great options for primary and secondary schools, shops, bars, and leisure facilities.
