There are two new collections of Shared Ownership properties to consider in the popular area of Mill Hill in north London.

Under the Shared Ownership scheme, you can purchase as little as a 25% share of your home, and pay rent on the remaining portion. You only pay a deposit on the share you are purchasing, and only require a mortgage that covers your share – two financial considerations than can often make buying a home unaffordable for many. As and when you can afford to, you can purchase additional shares in your property through a process called staircasing, until you own your home outright and no longer pay any rent.

L&Q is now offering a new range of one- to three- bedroom homes at L&Q at Millbrook Park. Each has private outdoor space, giving residents their own dedicated area to enjoy the surrounding greenery. Inside, each apartment features spacious living areas, with an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area welcoming in plenty of natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows. Principal bedrooms come with built-in wardrobes, whilst two bedroom apartments feature an en suite bathroom accompanying the principal bedroom. All homes come with their own parking space.

These are part of a substantial multi-phase development delivering 2,200 new homes alongside extensive community facilities, including almost six hectares of parks and open spaces, Millbrook Park offers a characterful extension to the neighbourhood. Residents can enjoy picturesque views of the neighbouring green belt, whilst just two minutes from Mill Hill East underground station, where journeys to Kings Cross St Pancras take only 23 minutes.

Claire Brenlund, sales director at L&Q, commented: “Shared Ownership is a fantastic option for buyers who are ready to get on to the property ladder, but would have to seriously compromise on location or quality if they bought on the open market. At L&Q at Millbrook Park, homes are genuinely in reach for first time buyers, with deposits starting from just £9,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.”

Prices at L&Q at Millbrook Park start from £90,000 for a 25% share of a one-bedroom apartment (full market value £360,000). Reserve now to receive up to £1,500 towards moving fees, available for a limited time only.

L&Q’s sales and marketing suite at L&Q at Millbrook Park is open by appointment only, with the sales team also providing virtual tours if preferred. Find out more at lqhomes.com.

On Saturday 6 March, Notting Hill Genesis is launching some Shared Ownership homes with deposits starting from just £10,375. Opportunities are limited, as this latest release comprises just two two-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom semi-detached house. Kitchen/dining rooms – for many, the hub of the home – come complete with handleless fitted modular units in gloss ivory finish, Silestone quartz worktops, and a range of high-quality integrated Zanussi appliances. Additional features include ample storage throughout each property.

Both apartments also boast their own private balcony space, with the house has its very own garden – ideal for families with children. Private on-site parking is available on all properties.

Millbrook ParkJames Munson, head of marketing for Notting Hill Genesis, commented: “Buyer priorities have shifted over the last year; with many seeking a location that enjoys a strong local identity, an excellent range of amenities, and green open spaces, but within easy reach of those all-important city hubs and transport links for when London re-activates. Millbrook Park is a great choice for those balancing these priorities. The chance to purchase in this sought-after, established location using Shared Ownership is a uniquely affordable opportunity; and with just three homes available, we encourage interested buyers to book a virtual viewing in time for the official launch to avoid disappointment.”

Prices for these newly launched homes start from £103,750 for a 25% share of a two-bedroom apartment (full market value £415,000), or £156,250 for a 25% share of a three-bedroom semi-detached house (full market value £625,000). Find out more at nhgsales.com.

The wider Millbrook Park community – with the surrounding developments working together to create a new, thriving residential village. Set within verdant, landscaped parkland, there are facilities and amenities on-site for residents, including a Co-op and Virgin Active Health Club. Within easy reach is Mill Hill’s existing impressive range of shops, places to eat and drink, and things to do such as scenic walks and cycle rides, a swimming pool, equestrian centre, and parks and playing fields.

Important for families with children, there are seven Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ schools within one mile of the development, including Millbrook Park CE Primary School, Dollis Park Primary School, and Pardes House Grammar School.

Hill offers many transport connections. Mill Hill East station is within walking distance and is served by the Northern Line, providing access to a variety of destinations across London, including a direct link to Euston in just 21 minutes. Just a little further, Mill Hill Broadway station connects travellers to St Pancras and Blackfriars International in as little as 18 minutes and 27 minutes respectively, or London Bridge and Fenchurch Street in 35 and 45 minutes respectively. The brook Park development is situated near the A41 and A1, which meet the M1 at Fiveways Corner.
