Luxury Retirement Village Launches In Moseley

Posted 22 February 2022 by Keith Osborne

A brand new, purpose-built apartment community for retirement living has been unveiled in south-east Birmingham...

Michael Blanning Trust Housing Association has launched the new retirement village, named The Shires, in Moseley, and a choice of  one and two-bedroom apartments are now available to reserve.

With prices from £224,043, these luxury apartments sit at the heart of the village, within beautiful communal gardens and just a stone’s throw from Moseley Bog and Joy’s Wood. Here, residents can enjoy independent living with care and support as and when needed.

Residents at The Shires will have access to a huge range of activities and amenities on site, including a hairdresser, craft room, library, village hall, bistro, bar, and allotments. Cleaning, laundry and even a dog walking service are also available, and property management is provided for all buildings, communal areas and gardens.

The 72 apartments are located across four floors and each space will be constructed to the highest quality, boasting beautiful contemporary design schemes. All apartments are beautifully appointed with fully fitted kitchens with a range of Bosch appliances, wet room-style bathrooms, part-fitted carpets and underfloor heating

The Shires’ two show apartments will be available to visit and look around in the next month or two. In the meantime  there is a fully equipped sales office on site with sales meetings available by appointment.

Commenting on The Shires’ launch, Andrew Oulsnam, director at Michael Blanning Trust Housing Association said: “We’re incredibly pleased to have launched our new luxury retirement village in Moseley. The Shires completely embodies independent living with a community feel, where residents can enjoy a retirement that’s as active or relaxed as they’d like. We’re very excited to begin welcoming residents soon and watch the community grow.”

Located in south-east Birmingham, Moseley has a rich history with plenty to see, eat and do. The suburb holds a proud rugby history and is home to many unique jazz and folk festivals. One of the area's biggest allures is its proximity to lush countryside and parkland, giving The Shires’ residents the opportunity to embrace nature in all seasons.
