Show Suite Opens At Taunton Retirement Scheme
There was cause for celebration as the Mayor of Taunton, Councillor Sue Lees, and chair of Somerset West and Taunton, Councillor Hazel Prior-Sankey, paid a visit to officially open the new Show Suite at Kingfisher Court – the latest development from WhatHouse? Award-winning retirement specialist McCarthy Stone.
To mark the occasion, Councillors’ Sue Lees and Hazel Prior-Sankey, joined the sales team at Kingfisher Court, to perform a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the show suite at the Retirement Living Plus Development on South Street, which comprises one- and two-bedroom apartments for the over-70s.
Councillor Sue Lees said: “I was thrilled to be invited to the opening of the Show Suite at Kingfisher Court. I was really pleased to see the outstanding development which will help enhance the number of choices available for older people in Taunton and beyond.”
Verity McKay, divisional marketing Manager at McCarthy Stone Southern, commented: “It was fantastic to mark this latest milestone at Kingfisher Court. We are all extremely proud of the development and we were delighted to be able to unveil the impressive Show Suite to Councillors’ Sue Lees and Hazel Prior-Sankey – the feedback so far has been really encouraging.”
The councillors and local retirees were also able to tour the show apartments and view the social areas including the on-site bistro and communal lounge, offering them the opportunity to experience the lifestyle on offer at Kingfisher Court, as well as find out more about how the development can help them get the most out of their retirement years.
Verity McKay continued: “We are seeing an increase in retirees deciding to take the plunge and downsize their home, so the low maintenance living available at Kingfisher Court allows retirees to enjoy their independence as a part of a thriving community and spend their time doing the things they love. I hope our Show Suite Opening event has given local retirees a taste of how enjoyable life as Kingfisher Court can be.”
In addition to the private apartments, Kingfisher Court has a welcoming communal lounge, perfect for socialising with new neighbours, landscaped gardens maintained by McCarthy Stone’s team, and a handy guest suite for when family and friends come to stay. The development also features its own bistro style restaurant serving delicious, freshly prepared meals every day, while secure entry systems and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind.
For those who may require a little additional help, there is an on-site estate manager and an experienced team is also on hand day and night to oversee the running of the development, and to provide tailored domestic support packages to suit individual needs.
The apartments at Kingfisher Court are now selling off-plan, with phase one and two already sold out. For those who want to purchase outright, prices currently start from £265,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £293,000 for a two-bedroom. What’s more, those who reserve a property off-plan by Monday 20 June can also save £5,000 on the purchase price. Rental and part-buy part-rent options are also available to make moving even easier.
