One-Year Anniversary For Whitley Bay Retirement Development

Posted 12 October 2023 by Keith Osborne

New homes exclusively for over-70s are still available at a retirement development that has just celebrated its first anniversary...

There was cause for celebration as homeowners at a Retirement Living Plus community in Whitley Bay came together in good spirits to mark the development’s first birthday.

Homeowners and the McCarthy Stone team at Elderton Place gathered in the communal lounge, where they enjoyed delicious cakes and a glass of fizz as they reminisced over new friendships and precious memories from the past year.

The active community will be an attraction for house-hunters over 70-years-old who are looking for a secure, low-maintenance new home. A range of occupancy options are available at Elderton Place to make retiring in style more accessible, including the Shared Ownership scheme in conjunction with Homes England. Prices at the development currently start from £188,250 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £236,250 for a two-bedroom apartment.

Louise Flynn, divisional marketing manager for McCarthy Stone, said: “We had a fantastic time at Elderton Place celebrating 12 months since we opened the doors. It’s such an important milestone for us, and we truly believe there’s no better way to mark this fantastic occasion than by encouraging our homeowners to get together to reflect on all the brilliant memories they’ve made here.

“Everyone at Elderton Place is incredibly proud to live here, and a strong sense of community spirit has really developed over the past year, which made the celebration all the more special.”

Elderton PlaceExclusively aimed at the over-70s, Elderton Place is a vibrant development, comprising a collection of well-appointed, low-maintenance apartments and an enviable range of shared spaces for an independent and fulfilling retirement. A spacious communal lounge, hobbies room, on-site bistro serving freshly prepared meals daily, and a coastal setting are just some of the many features that add to the development’s appeal. Elderton Place also benefits from an hotel-style guest suite for when family and friends want to come stay.

For peace of mind, an experienced estate management team is on hand 24 hours a day to oversee the running of the development and provide tailored support packages to suit individual needs. A 24/7 emergency call system and door camera entry are also in place for greater security.
