Luxury Lakeside Homes Unveiled In Chelmsford

Posted 28 April 2021 by Keith Osborne

Two collections of well-appointed, contemporary-design waterside homes are coming to the growing Beaulieu Park district...

Marden Homes has launched its luxury lakeside development Homes at Channels, set against a backdrop of rolling countryside yet just three miles from historic Chelmsford.

Striking modern architecture is complemented by a picturesque waterside location that belies a journey time of just 34 minutes into the capital. Two collections of homes, known as The Lakes and Wimbush Waters, are now available for sale. The Lakes is a collection of 20 waterside apartments, including four penthouses, together with seven four-bedroom family homes, while Wimbush Waters comprises elegant two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses set overlooking two further lakes.

The new properties offer living spaces which are open plan and sociable, while vast floor-to-ceiling windows allow the homes to flood with natural light and maximise the exceptional views over the lakes. Every home benefits from private outdoor space in the form of gardens, balconies, roof terraces or decking; views overlook the lake and backdrop of rolling green hills, a picturesque setting that creates a tranquil retreat. Residents have exclusive access to the lakes, which can be used for water sports such as paddle boarding or boating.

Situated on the outskirts of new community Beaulieu Park, residents can also make use of local amenities including play areas, a new school for primary and secondary pupils as well as a village hub which will feature a new brasserie, shops, a community centre and medical facilities, just moments from Wimbush Waters.

Andy Wren, sales and marketing manager for Marden Homes, commented: “Chelmsford has enjoyed a steady influx of homebuyers since it gained city status in 2012, however the pandemic has created even more demand. London leavers moving to the Home Counties will often look to trendy county towns and cities such as Guildford in Surrey, or St Albans, Hertfordshire. However, value and growth potential, combined with fantastic, rolling countryside, excellent London transport connections and internationally renowned cultural and leisure opportunities, means Chelmsford is fast becoming the Home Counties' hidden hotspot for buyers.”

Historic Chelmsford provides every opportunity to live, work and play, from the 11th-century cathedral and neoclassical grounds of Hyland House to renowned restaurants such as Pig & Whistle and The New London Restaurant and Lounge, varied shopping opportunities and educational establishments including King Edward VI Grammar School and Anglia Ruskin University.

Regular, fast trains from Chelmsford's central station reach London Liverpool Street in as little as 34 minutes, while the forthcoming Chelmsford Beaulieu railway station is even closer to Homes at Channels and will provide quick access to Chelmsford city centre as well as direct services into the capital. It is due for completion in 2025.

Prices start from £395,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, and £825,000 for a four-bedroom house at Homes at Channels.
