New Shared Ownership Homes To Launch In Chelmsford

L&Q has announced multiple releases of new homes at Beaulieu, a thriving new residential district set within 176 acres of green space and parklands on the outskirts of the city of Chelmsford.

Launching on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April is an exclusive release of two- and three- bedroom Shared Ownership houses at The Arbour, a collection of 255 houses and apartments within the Beaulieu neighbourhood.

Offering further choice for first-time buyers, across the summer, the housing association will also launch a collection of one- and two-bedroom apartments, maisonettes and houses at L&Q at Beaulieu – within the Beaulieu Health and Beaulieu Grange areas of the development.

Claire Brenlund, sales and marketing director at L&Q, commented: “Typically, here in the South East, where property prices can be very high, the expectation is that first-time buyers will have to settle for what they can afford, and won’t get much choice in the type of home they purchase. Beaulieu is set out as a series of micro-neighbourhoods, all characterised by different architectural styles. The mix of terraced and semi-detached houses at The Arbour integrate traditional brickwork with striking pitched roofs whilst generously sized windows result in light and airy internal spaces. Other areas of the development feature wooden detailing, bringing a feel of New England to the Essex countryside.

Set close to attractive countryside, the leafy development is just a seven-minute drive (or short bus ride) away from the bustling hub of Chelmsford. The city offers many shops, bars and restaurants, and a railway station with fast connections into London Liverpool Street taking less than 30 minutes. Beaulieu Park’s own railway station is set to open in 2026, which will create further transport links across the east of England for residents. Chelmsford also has excellent access to the A12 and A130, offering direct connections to the M25. For journeys further afield, Stansted Airport is only a 30-minute drive away.

For those seeking amenities closer to home, Beaulieu Square is a short walk from the new homes, offering a number of essential shops and facilities, including Sainsbury’s Local and Beaulieu Dental Surgery. The square is also home to independent café Coffee Squared, whose menu offers locally sourced ingredients from across Essex.

The development is ideally situated for those who enjoy exploring the outdoors – with spaces such as Admirals Park and Tower Gardens close by. Plus, Beaulieu itself is home to an abundance of green spaces including landscaped gardens, lush woodland and playparks and works are underway to deliver new landscaped community gardens, which will span over 11 acres of the site.
