Helen ChristieFollowing multiple sell-out launches of new homes at The Quarry, an award-winning South East London site, L&Q and Anderson have launched a new phase of one- and two-bedroom homes.
The Quarry is a landmark 849 home neighbourhood, on the site of the former Parishes Loam Quarry in Erith, South East London. The next phases of housing at the development is available through Market Sale.
This multi-award-winning development which spans a 50-acre site will establish high quality living, along with educational and community spaces to build on the ecology of the site. Creating a beacon for sustainable living, The Quarry will welcome a thriving new community within environmentally focused grounds that house a dedicated ecology area. This will help retain existing habitat for protected species, while new wet pond features aim to increase biodiversity.
Callum Moss, assistant director of Sales at L&Q comments: “We’re excited to have released new homes at The Quarry this autumn. Having seen such high demand and interest in our earlier phases, it’s great to be offering additional housing tailored to a wider community. The Quarry has made a significant contribution to the borough’s housing targets, and we are delighted to be launching the next phases and offering further chances for buyers to put down roots at the popular location.”

Glenn Potter, managing director of development at Anderson, says: “We are delighted to see the next phase of homes at The Quarry being released for purchase. Along with our partners L&Q, we have managed to blend fantastic family homes and a state-of-the-art primary school in ecological surroundings. This will provide many first-time buyers and families with the opportunity to create a life within a bustling community on the outskirts of London.”
All homes at The Quarry will offer generous living and outdoor spaces, and benefit from large floor-to-ceiling windows that maximise views and natural light. Additional features include fitted contemporary appliances and underfloor heating. All homes have access to private outdoor space in the form of gardens, balconies and terraces.

The development will create a family-friendly streetscape, with walkways across the site encouraging pedestrians and cyclists to travel through the site instead of around it, and there will be no through access for cars, promoting a sense of countryside living.
The Quarry continues to maximize the opportunity to reduce carbon emissions in all new homes through the integration of sustainable design and Low or Zero Carbon Technologies such as Air Source Heat Pumps and PV Panels. Both of which utilise the heat in the air and sunlight to generate energy for homes, helping to reduce household bills. Homes are also equipped with a 7.3kw electric car charging point or the infrastructure to install one with ease.
Ideal for families with young children, an important landmark on the development is the state-of-the-art Lime Wood Free School, which is located at the main entrance to The Quarry and set to open in 2023. Classrooms will face out over the development and beyond, promoting health and wellbeing. Run by The Woodland Academy Trust, it is anticipated to open to its first intake of reception-age children later next year.
Situated within the M25 and along the River Thames, yet outside the hustle and bustle of inner-city London, The Quarry offers the perfect location for first-tiime Buyers and families alike – close to nature, but commutable to the city. Perfectly positioned for city workers, Erith is well connected by bus and rail. With regular services currently running into London, nearby stations Woolwich and Abbey Wood have become even better connected with the recent opening of the Elizabeth Line - trains to Canary Wharf take just 11 mins, and just 17 mins to Liverpool Street. Both stations are a cycle or quick bus ride from homes at The Quarry. Homes are also just a short walk to Erith Station, with journeys to London Bridge taking just 30 mins, and 45 mins to Charing Cross.
Prices start from £273,500 for a one-bedroom apartment.
