Mixed-Use Development Unveiled In Southwark

Keith OsborneThe first phase of a brand new development bringing a range of apartments and townhouses to a former industrial site in Southwark in now for sale.
Knight Frank has been appointed by Durkan Homes for the mixed-use redevelopment of Manor Place and the former workshops at Braganza Street in Southwark, London. Manor and Braganza consists of 89 apartments duplexes and townhouses across two sites. Phase one (Braganza) will comprise 30 one- and two- bedroom apartments and duplexes and a selection of two-, three- and four- bedroom townhouses, starting from £720,000.
The apartments on Manor Place have been designed to ensure they retain a sense of the area’s rich heritage and will be mindful of their local context – with original features including Victorian façades being recorded and faithfully replicated as part of the new work. Many of the Manor Place apartments will enjoy impressive views of the City and Pasley Park.
In addition to the new homes being delivered, the project will also be adding a new health centre, pharmacy, café and employment space to an area of Southwark which already benefits from a strong sense of community pride and an existing reputation as being a great place to live.
Future residents at Manor and Braganza will benefit from homes designed with high specifications along with communal landscaped courtyard gardens. Many of the homes will also have their own private outdoor spaces, from balconies and terraces to gardens and even both across some houses.
The surrounding Kennington area, a London Zone 1/2 location benefits from ample conveniences for an easier lifestyle; from local supermarkets, convenience stores, pubs and eateries, plenty of green spaces, historic destinations including Oval cricket ground, Vauxhall City Farm and Imperial War Museum. Located a short walk away from the development, Kennington Underground station provides endless travel connections. Battersea Power Station and London Bridge can be reached within five minutes, whilst international links are just 17 minutes away, from St Pancras International.
Kennington is an area of great opportunities for buyers looking for a new home in a growth hotspot. Property prices in the area are not only generally more affordable compared with residences close to other Northern line stations south of the river but the recent rezoning of Kennington Tube station from Zone 2 to Zone 1/2 also offers greater value for London commuters.
James Underhill, sales & marketing director at Durkan Homes, said: “Manor and Braganza, is an exciting project which will deliver much needed new homes and community amenities as part of the wider Southwark regeneration. We look forward to working together with Knight Frank to offer an exceptional collection of new homes for buyers looking to call Kennington home.’’
Rian Strauss, associate City & East New Homes at Knight Frank, said: “Durkan Homes is committed to the delivery of an exemplary mixed-used scheme at Manor and Braganza. The development is an important piece of the wider south London regeneration which we expect will attract high demand from buyers, given the location of this outstanding neighbourhood, different types of homes available and access to a wealth of amenities on the development’s doorstep.’’
