Time Running Out For Help To Buy At North London Scheme

Posted 16 November 2020 by Keith Osborne

Joseph Homes hosts a Help to Buy weekend event as time runs out to use the government-backed homebuyer initiative...

Joseph Homes is encouraging buyers considering purchasing a new build home in the coming weeks to act soon in order to take advantage of the combined benefits of Help to Buy and the stamp duty holiday, both due to end in March 2021.

In order to assist house-hunters considering purchasing with the government-backed scheme, the housebuilder is hosting a Help To Buy open weekend on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November at its No.1 Millbrook Park development in north London, where a number of apartments qualify for London Help to Buy whether the purchaser is a first-timer or moving from a home they already own.

The Help to Buy scheme will be modified in March to accommodate first-time buyers only, though any reservations under the existing scheme must be taken by 15 December 2020 in order to allow enough time for sales to complete by the March deadline. Apartments at the development start at £444,995 for a one-bedroom property and are available now.

The company’s trademark ‘Live Well’ approach at No.1 Millbrook Park’s apartments takes a ‘fabric first’ approach, with homes delivering on the low-carbon agenda. These homes use low VOC (volatile organic compound) paint, gas-free appliances (reducing toxic fumes), thermally efficient glass, mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems (MVHR) and pollen filters to create a continuous supply of fresh filtered air.

No.1 Millbrook ParkLocated on the highest point of Mill Hill’s Millbrook Park regeneration scheme, the apartments have some of the best views of the open, green spaces below, in addition to wider panoramas across the London skyline. Located on the original marching parade ground of Inglis Army Barracks, the one- and two-bedroom apartments offer exceptionally high ceilings and large windows to maximise space and light, improving residents’ wellbeing.

Sean Ruane, sales director of Joseph Homes, commented: “The homes at No1. Millbrook Park have seen continued popularity since launch, but we are keen to make buyers aware that Help to Buy will soon change, and those that want to take advantage of it in its current iteration should act sooner rather than later. This is particularly important in the light of delays in the purchasing process caused by increased market activity and the introduction of the SDLT [Stamp Duty Land Tax] holiday.

“The apartments at the development offer exceptional value for the area, with a whole host of additional wellbeing measures placing it far beyond expectations. For those interested in enjoying the benefits of our Live Well offering, I would recommend scheduling a visit to our marketing suite without delay.”

Mill Hill is a thriving hub of independent shops and cafes with village charm. Known for its expanse of green spaces and vibrant community, Mill Hill also has great transport links. The Northern line from Mill Hill East Tube station provides links to all corners of the city, while Mill Hill Broadway railway station line opens up connections to Europe via St Pancras and the rest of the world via Luton Airport.
