Home Of The Day - ‘The Dunham’, Elan Homes
The WhatHouse? team has seen lots of incredible new homes this week, but The Dunham from Elan Homes has really stood out…
Five-bedroom homes have recently been released by Elan Homes at Pickards at Larkbear.
The Dunham from Elan Homes offers 1,461 sq ft of well-planned, generous living space, set out over three floors. There is also a show home available to view by appointment.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball explains: “Three-storey homes have been popular since the Georgian era and we’ve adapted the concept for today’s busy modern families. We understand it can be tricky to visualise how to use the space, which is why we have a Dunham show home available to view at Pickards at Larkbear. Building up rather than out, we’re making best use of the footprint of the property and offering an extra level of living space. Homes set out over three floors tend to be competitively priced compared with two-storey equivalents of a similar size, plus because heat rises homeowners could find that they’re more efficient to run.”

The well-equipped kitchen is at the front of the Dunham, with a combined lounge/ dining room at the rear with French doors opening out onto the garden, offering lots of natural light and easy access to the outside space. A convenient cloakroom completes the ground floor.
On the first floor there’s the family bathroom, plus three generously sized bedrooms, the main benefiting from an en-suite. Two further bedrooms, a shower room and storage space are on the top floor.
“Homes set out over three floors offer a flexible solution to family living and can be easily adapted as your needs change. Those with teens or young adults who crave privacy living at home could allow them free reign of the top floor using one room as a bedroom and the other as lounge or games room. The top floor also offers a solution for couples where one half snores as they can effectively have separate sleeping spaces with a shared shower room. Or for those who perhaps don’t need all five bedrooms, other options include using one of the rooms as a study, a gym or even giving a much-loved pet their own room.”

The Dunham is available from £360,000. Subject to build stage, buyers will be able to choose from a range of options to make their home their own, selecting the finish of the kitchen, the bathroom tiles and a host of other items.
Pickards at Larkbear is close to the A361 and Barnstaple train station. The wider new community Elan’s homes are a part of, will include a new primary school, a local centre with potential uses including a small shop, surgery, pharmacy and community hall; and there will be acres of open space and woodland, plus cycle paths and other facilities.
