Hayfield, WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year 2021, will deliver a first for Worcestershire, as the 55 eco-efficient homes at its new Hayfield Grove development are EPC-A rated.

The zero carbon ready homes are now available for sale. Located in the semi-rural village of Hallow, the scheme £20million development will offer a greener way of living, thanks to solar PV panels, air source heat pumps, energy-efficient underfloor heating, EV charging points, 100% renewable energy, as well as fibre optic broadband.

Located adjacent to Greenhill Lane, a range of two-bedroom bungalows and houses are priced from £320,000 to £550,000. Three-, four-, and five-bedroom family homes will be included in future releases. The first homes will be ready to move into before the end of the year. A marketing suite will be unveiled in 2023.

Shelley West, regional sales director for Hayfield, said: “Situated only three miles from the cathedral city of Worcester, Hallow is a really popular village. There has been a high level of interest for this eco-efficient new development since construction work commenced earlier this year, especially in the context of the energy price rises of late.”

Only 2% of the UK’s new homes are currently being built to EPC-A standards. West continued: “The zero-carbon ready specification and EPC-A energy rating really sets Hayfield Grove apart as an exemplary scheme. In contrast to the highly sophisticated interiors, the architectural detailing for the 55 homes is traditional, to maximise kerb appeal and reflect Hallow’s period properties. Appointments are being made on a first-come, first-served basis, enabling proceedable buyers to choose their preferred home and plot, while benefitting from off-plan prices.”

The prime 5.5-acre site includes the creation of 2.5-acres of outstanding new Public Open Space. This joins up with the extensive landscaped open space and fully equipped playground that was created as part of the original Hayfield Meadow scheme, which the multi award-winning housebuilder completed in 2019.

Hayfield’s designs for this new development are heavily influenced by traditional homes in the village and the Hallow Design Guide. The architectural style combines red brick with stone features and contrasting dark roof tiles.

Hayfield is creating new landscaped walking and cycling routes to connect the scheme into the neighbourhood. New wildflower planting and a biodiverse pond will create significant ecological benefits. The density of the development is much lower than typical new build schemes, with extensive planting incorporated into the masterplan, including orchard tree planting.

Hallow’s convenient location is ideal for commuting, shopping and visiting Worcestershire’s attractions. The quintessential village itself is very vibrant and the Crown Inn pub at Hallow is known to be a destination for those living in the surrounding area. Hallow Primary School – situated close to the site – is highly regarded by local families, while the development also falls within the catchment of the Ofsted ‘Outstanding’-rated Chantry School for 11- to 16-year-olds, which is in the nearby village of Martley.

Hayfield is currently on site delivering over 400 homes at nine developments across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire.
