Keith OsborneAgent Hamptons and developer Southwark Council have announced the launch of a new range of homes at a development called Alfred Fagon Apartments, located at the intersection of Copeland Road and Rye Lane in Peckham.
These brand new one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments are set in the heart of Time Out’s “Coolest Neighbourhood of London” and take their name from the Jamaican-born British poet and playwright who lived nearby. Each features a bright, open-plan living/kitchen/dining area in a muted colour scheme and willow grey flooring. The kitchens benefit from underlit units and quartz worktops, while the sense of refinement continues into the well-proportioned bedrooms, which feature large floor-to-ceiling windows. The bathrooms have oversized wall tiles in a neutral tone, recessed ceiling lights and chrome fittings. Furthermore, each apartment features a wide balcony or terrace to make the best of the urban setting.
Residents are also able to enjoy access to landscaped gardens with a large communal roof terrace offering panoramic vistas across London, as well as a children’s play area and games zone.
As an area, Peckham is renowned as a cultural hub. It boasts an abundance of cutting-edge local amenities including galleries, rooftop bars and restaurants, industrial-style clubs and independent boutiques. The area has also retained its strong community spirit. A vibrant new square conceived by Spheron Architects aims to be a “community hub for the 21st century”. The square can be found directly outside of Peckham Rye station, next to the award-winning Will Alsop designed Peckham Library.
The area also benefits from numerous open green spaces such as Peckham Rye Park and Common. Residents can enjoy a range of walking and cycling trails, the Japanese garden, bowling green and picnic areas set around an attractive lake and Victorian Arboretum. There is also a wide selection of local health clubs and gyms including Home of CrossFit Peckham, The Yard in Copeland Park, as well as boot camps like Be Military Fit which are held in Peckham Rye Park.
Alfred Fagon Apartments is located a short seven minute walk from Peckham Rye station with a journey to Clapham Junction taking 12 minutes. Canary Wharf can be reached in 17 minutes and Oxford Circus in 35 minutes.
