Show Homes Opened In Chopwell
House-hunters in Tyne & Wear have something new to consider as Gleeson Homes has opened new show homes at Moorland Green, its development in Chopwell.
Featuring some of Gleeson’s most popular house types, at Moorland Green there are now three three-bedroom show homes: the popular semi-detached ‘Tyrone’, the semi-detached ‘Woodford’ and the detached ‘Kilkenny’, all complete with gardens and off-street parking.
To celebrate the launch of the show homes, Gleeson invited Councillor Lynne Caffrey, Chair Gateshead Health and Wellbeing Board; Councillor John Adams, Housing Portfolio Lead; Councillor Hugh Kelly, Housing, Environment and Healthier Communities Committee and Amanda Reed, Housing Growth Development Manager at Gateshead Council along to officially open the show homes with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Councillor John Adams said: “These new homes are a fantastic boost for Chopwell, a beautiful part of our Borough that offers expansive green spaces perfect for raising a family. This is exactly the kind of new build housing we need in Gateshead, as it supports our ambition to offer affordable housing that meets the aspirations of our residents. The sustainable heating installed in the properties is a welcome bonus too, given that Gateshead has pledged to be Net Carbon Zero by 2030.”
Sarah Marsden, divisional managing director for Gleeson’s North Eastern division said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to welcome the councillors to Moorland Green to officially open our show homes. Moorland Green is one of three developments throughout Gleeson that is trialling an air source heat pump in one of the show homes. It was a fantastic opportunity to show the councillors this and explain how we are focused on becoming a more sustainable, economical company.”
Moorland Green is a new development of 205 new homes set in the semi-rural village of Chopwell, Gateshead. The former coal mining village is well situated close to local amenities, has great transport links and boasts a beautiful woodland of mixed conifer and broadleaf, covering almost 900 acres of the Derwent Valley.
Prices at Moorland Green currently start at £132,995 for a three-bedroom property, with homes available to purchase using the government’s Help to Buy: Equity Loan, requiring just a 5% deposit. The sales office at Moorland Green is open Thursday to Monday from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
