Dundas Estates has announced a first opportunity to purchase a brand new home at a development in Musselburgh, and the final opportunity at another development in Cambuslang.

Apartments at The Wireworks, a modern riverside development in Musselburgh, have been launched. It’s a range of high-specification one- to three bedroom apartments at the long-anticipated £35million reimagining of the former Brunton Wireworks site on the tree-lined banks of the River Esk. The current availability ranges in price from £186,995 to £339,995 on apartments having from 517 sq ft to 1,055 sq ft of living space.

Most properties offer balcony space or ground floor private garden areas, with open-plan interiors providing the flexibility and space to work, relax and entertain from home. Private parking provision is available as well as lift access to all floors. The 140-home development will have the capacity to store 140 bicycles in internal and external bikes stores and electric car charging facilities will be available throughout the site.

One example of the homes now for sale is Plot 34, a one-bedroom home featuring open-plan living with a Juliet balcony, on the market for £186,995. Another is Plot 26, the largest three-bedroom apartment with a large open-plan living area with balcony, an en suite to bedroom one and a family bathroom.

Craig Fairfoull, head of sales and marketing at Dundas Estates, said: “Given how close we are to the town centre, we’re aware that this development is quite unlike anything ever built here before. Early interest is predominantly local, so it’s great to be able to meet a demand that has been unmet for a while. Ultimately, we want to build homes that make people feel great.”

‘The Lewis’‘The Lewis’ house type

In the west of Scotland, Dundas Estates has just one home remaining at the first 42-home phase of a development that has proven hugely popular with buyers. Gilbertfield Woods represents one of the housebuilder’s most popular developments – all homes sold to date have been off-plan. A show home due to complete next month, ahead of the launch of the next phase later this year.

Priced at £359,995, Plot 42 is an impressive four-bedroom detached home called ‘The Lewis’. This L-shaped house offers an open-plan kitchen and dining area which has French doors to the large south-facing garden. There’s also a utility room, WC, practical storage space and a large separate lounge with triple windows, while upstairs it boasts an impressive en suite master bedroom. It has a garage for private parking, with a move-in date of early 2023. Interested buyers are being urged to act quickly.

Gail Grant, customer experience manager at Gilbertfield Woods, said: “Our mission is to build homes that make people feel great and we feel that this development is a winning recipe, with families getting more space and a higher specification than locations within Glasgow. The first families are due to move in to their new properties in Summer 2022 and we anticipate a real welcoming, neighbourly spirit.

“Now just one property remains in the first phase on an excellent southerly aspect plot and we look forward to seeing who will step forward to make a purchase.”

The mix of family-friendly properties at the development all benefit from roof-mounted solar panels and feature enhanced specification, including luxury fitted kitchen appliances and hive controllable high efficiency heating.

Amenities on the doorstep include a host of restaurants, Strathclyde Country Park which includes a water sports centre on its loch, East Kilbride Shopping Centre which boasts 180 shops, a cinema, bowling complex and Eastfield Lifestyle Leisure Centre. Gilbertfield Woods also has excellent transport links to Glasgow with three stations within a short distance of the development. Commuters also have access to the M73/M74 and the M8 with a range of primary and secondary schools nearby.
