Low Deposit Mortgage Scheme From Leading Housebuilders In Aylesbury

Posted 25 January 2022 by Helen Christie

Two developments from Barratt Homes and David Wilson have launched a new low deposit scheme to make homeownership much more accessible…

The prospect of homeownership has been made much more accessible for prospective buyers in Aylesbury thanks to the launch of a brand new low deposit mortgage scheme at both Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes’ Canal Quarter and Orchard Green sites - two popular developments of new homes at Kingsbrook.

Deposit Unlock is a new mortgage lending scheme offered by the housebuilders, under which first-time buyers and existing homeowners can purchase a new build home priced up to £330,000 with just a 5% deposit. The competitively priced mortgage for the remaining 95% is designed to make buying a new home much more affordable to those who may have otherwise struggled to fund a deposit for their dream home.

The scheme is run in partnership with a number of lenders, which are able to offer a range of market-leading mortgage rates under Deposit Unlock, starting at 5% for a two-year fixed rate mortgage.

Karly Williams, sales and marketing director at Barratt North Thames, comments: “We are always looking at ways we can help even more people either onto or up the property ladder and Deposit Unlock is the latest way for those in Aylesbury to do just that. By significantly reducing the size of deposit needed to secure a new home, we’re hoping we can make it much more accessible and affordable for buyers to move into their dream home.”

Residents living at Canal Quarter and Orchard Green at Kingsbrook will have access to a 250 acre nature reserve on their doorstep with plenty of opportunities to explore the canal walk and cycle paths. 60% of the development has also been allocated to open space including play areas and landscaping. Residents will be able to enjoy all the benefits of a semi-rural lifestyle, whilst feeling in reach of larger towns and cities offering a buzz of activities - especially attractive for younger families and first-time buyers.

There are currently a range of three- and four-bedroom homes available at Kingsbrook, with prices starting from £367,995. A new phase of properties will be launching at Barratt’s Orchard Green village at Kingsbrook later in 2022.
