New Home Designs Introduced At Midlothian Scheme

Posted 16 September 2021 by Keith Osborne

Dandara is introducing its new Island Range house types at Eskbank Gardens, with other developments to follow...

Scottish housebuilder Dandara is unveiling a new range of homes at its developments across East Scotland, which have been designed to meet changing customer desires and aspirations.

The Island Range – named after some of the most beautiful locations in the country – has been designed to respond to greater demands for homeworking space and a need for flexibility. Dandara will launch these new homes at its current and future developments, starting at Eskbank Gardens, just outside Edinburgh. The homes at Eskbank Gardens will be available for sale off-plan very soon with the first completions expected in the spring.

The new range of homes externally feature a selection of clean and simple lines with minimal maintenance in mind. Internally, the new homes have been designed with an emphasis on flexible spaces to accommodate increased home working; something that is likely to remain popular in the future. Generous, open-plan living areas which can be defined by the use of furniture offer greater flexibility, not only for working from home, but also for family time and entertaining.

Dandara East Scotland MD Iain Innes said: “Our experience has shown us what people value most in their homes – plenty of light and versatile living areas. Our newly designed Island Range will meet the ever-changing needs of our customers and will also offer an exceptional wide range of new homes allowing opportunities for first time buyers to benefit from our quality new homes as well. A Dandara home is now within the reach of more buyers than ever before and our new range of properties will allow even more families and first-time buyers to find their ideal new home.

“In naming our beautiful new range of homes, we have sought inspiration from some of Scotland’s most stunning islands and hope they offer professionals, families and first-time buyers alike the ideal sanctuary.”

Island RangeThe Island Range incorporates a wide range of homes designed to appeal to everyone from first time buyers to second steppers and growing families. For example, the ‘Harris’ two-bedroom home offers a dual-aspect living, dining and kitchen area with generous sized windows at one end and French doors to the garden at the other, good storage and a dedicated utility space and a cloakroom. Upstairs there are two spacious double bedrooms and a family bathroom, again with additional cupboard space.

The Island Range includes three new three-bedroom house types. The ‘Jura’ has an open-plan kitchen/dining area with French doors to the garden, a separate living room, cloakroom and utility room on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a main bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a double bedroom, single bedroom and family bathroom.

The ‘Skye’ is fully open plan on the ground floor offering a great space for cooking, dining and relaxing, with a separate cloakroom and storage. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom plus more storage.

There is a choice of four different four-bedroom styles and sizes to suit all home buyers. The ‘Coll’ and ‘Iona’ are both two-storey detached family homes, with open-plan living spaces and principal bedrooms benefitting from en suite bathrooms, while the ‘Iona’ features an integral garage with a dedicated utility space and plenty of room for additional storage.

The ‘Islay’ and ‘Orkney’ are townhouses arranged over three storeys. The ‘Islay’ has open-plan living on the ground floor with French doors to the garden; three bedrooms, bathroom and study on the first floor; and a top floor main suite. The ‘Orkney’ has an integral garage with a dedicated utility space, and a garden room on the ground floor; a dining kitchen, separate lounge and study/bedroom four on the first floor; and a main suite, two further bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor.

In addition to Eskbank Gardens, the new range of homes will be launched shortly at Dandara East Scotland’s neighbouring developments at Ashgrove in Straiton, Shawfair and the imminent new site, Foxhall Gait at Kirkliston later in the year, all close to the thriving capital city of Edinburgh. Part of the Scottish powerhouse region, this area is outpacing London in terms of growth and is experiencing an unprecedented rise in jobs, prospects and prosperity.
