Housebuilder Unveils More Homes At Three Commutable Sites

Posted 11 September 2020 by Keith Osborne

Commuters to London can find a host of newly released homes from Countryside in Berkshire, Essex and Hertfordshire...

Countryside has released new ranges of homes at a number of sites in towns to appeal to local buyers and London commuters.

Watermark, launched on Saturday 5 September, marks the housebuilder’s first development in the Thames Valley and is bringing 229 contemporary properties to the banks of Maidenhead Waterways, comprising one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £310,000 and Help to Buy available. Each home has its own private outdoor space, large windows, fully integrated and fitted kitchens, built-in wardrobes to the main bedroom, and superfast broadband.

This development boasts proximity to Maidenhead’s town centre and station, with its frequent services to Reading, Heathrow Airport and London Paddington. When Crossrail launches, there will be an outstanding direct connection to the West End, The City and Docklands.

The development provides residents with rich greenery, water features, pocket parks and direct access to regenerated Library Square, while new retail spaces will open up underneath the arches of the development, creating a lively waterfront lifestyle overlooking York Stream.

Daniel King, regional managing director for Countryside, said: “The sales launch of Watermark is a major milestone in the creation of much-needed new homes and amenities for Maidenhead. We’re so excited to unveil these meticulously designed apartments, as well as making further progress on the regeneration of Library Square with new restaurants, cafes and retailers, helping to create a new waterfront quarter in the town. We can’t wait to welcome the very first residents to Watermark next year.”

The first completions are expected in March 2021. The Watermark marketing suite is open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

BaseIn Harlow, Essex, there are new releases at the Base at Newhall development, part of a new urban village and its still-growing community. There are one- and two-bedroom coach houses, and three- and four-bedroom houses. There are contemporary kitchens with integrated appliances, flexible living spaces and large feature windows, while generous gardens provide much-desired private outdoor space.

In total, Base at Newhall will deliver around 700 homes across eight phases, with up to 40% of the new neighbourhood dedicated to open space – meaning no home will be more than 60 metres from parkland or greenery. Residents are conveniently located just three miles from the M11 motorway and seven miles from the M25, making London and Cambridge easily accessible by road. From nearby Harlow Town railway station, direct services to London Liverpool Street take just 30 minutes, and under 30 minutes to Stansted Airport.

Prices at Base start at £309,950, with Help to Buy available. Find out more at www.basenewhall.co.uk.

Countryside has also released more homes at St Michael’s Hurst, a new village-style development on the outskirts of Bishop’s Stortford. These are the last units on the current phase, a range of two-bedroom coach houses, and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses which blend characterful, traditionally inspired architecture with modern interiors.

Located on the outskirts of the historic and picturesque market town of Bishop’s Stortford, homes at St Michael’s Hurst are surrounded by greenery and will also soon welcome the 16-acre Bat Willow Country Park. They are proving particularly popular with those looking for all the fun of being close to London, with the tranquillity of life in the country. Residents are just an hour from the heart of the capital. Direct trains from nearby Bishop’s Stortford station take just 38 minutes into London Liverpool Street, making it ideal for city commuters. Fantastic connections via both road and rail also puts Cambridge within quick and easy reach, while the nearby London Stansted Airport makes international travel easy too.

Prices start at £330,000 for a two-bedroom coach house, with Help to Buy available on a range of properties. The marketing suite is open seven days a week between 10.00am and 5.00pm.
