Teddington Riverside is a new development of luxury homes overlooking Teddington Lock in south-west London and on Saturday 1 October, its hosts Teddington Unlocked, an art exhibition capturing the beautiful landscapes and river scenes of the Richmond area.

Taking place between noon and 3.00pm, Teddington Unlocked features work by talented local artists and brings together a collection of affordable art – paintings and drawings depicting riverscapes, street scenes, wildlife and Thameside meadows, as well as sculptures and figurative works. The exhibition is being curated by Catherine Sweet of BobCat Gallery and organised in association with Arts Richmond, which will receive 10% of profits from art sold at the exhibition.

The exhibition will be hosted in one of the apartments at the development, which is a collection of luxurious brand new apartments and townhouses for sale, set in landscaped private grounds of 4.5 acres next to the River Thames.

Eugenie Ropner, head of sales and marketing at Teddington Riverside, said: “Teddington and the wider Richmond area feature so many wonderful landscapes and river views, historic street scenes and the wide open spaces of the Royal Parks at Bushy Park and Richmond Park. We want to celebrate this very special area through our art exhibition, Teddington Unlocked. The area has a long tradition of attracting many great artists such as Turner, Gainsborough, and Constable, and continues to have a thriving artistic and cultural scene which can be seen by the outstanding works being exhibited at the show.

“Teddington Riverside has an incredible setting and we want to ensure that as many local people as possible have the opportunity to visit us and appreciate the art and the location.”

Making the most of this bucolic setting, a new show apartment designed by leading interiors expert Alexander James has been unveiled, complete with a terrace providing the perfect spot to gaze out over the Thames and enjoy the serene river views.

Set on the third floor of the building, which is constructed in mellow honey brick, by award-winning Hamiltons Architects, the apartment is filled with light reflecting from the Thames. A generous living area leads out onto the terrace, providing a wonderful focal point for the room and an instant connection to its natural surroundings. The work of local artists adorns the walls.

The specification is excellent, with a bespoke kitchen equipped with the latest Siemens built-in appliances and engineered stone worktops, spacious marble bathrooms and engineered oak flooring. This attention to detail flows throughout the apartment, with materials and lighting accentuating the calm of the waterside location.

Outside, the grounds are landscaped with mature trees and shrubs alongside the Thames – a delightful leafy place for a stroll or for finding a quiet spot. With the emphasis on hassle-free, relaxing lifestyle, residents enjoy a boutique hotel ambience. With a 24-hour concierge and first-class security facilities, Teddington Riverside is perfect for people wanting a full-time home or a lock-up-and-leave London base for those who travel or spend time abroad.

Teddington Riverside, built on the site of the renowned former Teddington Studios where Hollywood greats and TV classics were filmed, has already attracted a thriving community of residents. Next door is the Lensbury, a private members’ club with river frontage and exceptional sports and leisure facilities, with tennis courts, squash, gym and studios, pool and watersports centre in 25 acres.

Eugenie Ropner, head of sales and marketing, said: “Teddington Riverside has universal appeal. We are seeing a wide range of buyers from young professionals and couples, some young families from London and internationally, who are attracted by the excellent schools in the area. We also have a number of residents who have downsized from large family homes in the local area. We have one of the best spots on the Thames, which is wonderful during the summer months and also all-year round. There are great walks along the river and Bushy and Richmond Parks are close by, along with Hampton Court Palace, and other historic homes with exquisite grounds. It is easy to see why The Sunday Times ranked Teddington in the top five Best Places to Live In 2022.”

The local area has a village feel with a flourishing high street lined with independent specialists, cafés, and restaurants, arts and cultural facilities – and just 12 miles from the West End, with fast links to Heathrow, the M3, M4 and M25 and national rail and bus connections into London.

One-bedroom apartments start from £610,000, two-bedroom apartments from £800,000 and three-bedroom apartments from £1.315million. Find out more at [email protected].
