Chestnut Homes is seeing keen buyer interest in the 'Farnham' house type at The Meadows in Lincolnshire...

The sizeable ‘Farnham’ five-bedroom detached property from Chestnut Homes at The Meadows has seen keen interest from house-hunters in Lincolnshire as the demand for larger homes continues to rise during lockdown.

On the market for £474,950, this is the biggest house to feature at the development and it includes an open-plan breakfast, family and kitchen area, a separate, dual-aspect living room and separate dining room on the ground floor. There are four double bedrooms – including two with en suites – plus a single which could easily be converted into a study, and a family bathroom. The house also boasts a large rear garden and detached double garage. More than 5,000 people viewed a video tour of the property on Facebook within days of it being posted.

Plot 27 is situated next to the green open space at the development and comes with upgraded flooring and a turfed garden included.

Helene Key, sales manager at Chestnut Homes, said: “The demand for larger properties has certainly risen since the start of the first lockdown, with space becoming an increasingly valuable commodity for people spending more of their work and leisure time at home.

“We’ve also seen that bigger houses are in high demand, and new build homes don’t come much bigger than the ‘Farnham’. This impressive property contains many of the key features which are now a top priority for house-hunters. The open-plan breakfast, family and kitchen area is ideal for spending quality time together, while the separate dining room and lounge provide a space for individual pursuits.

“There are three sets of French doors leading out into the rear garden, enabling families to make the most of both their outdoor and indoor space, something which is particularly useful for entertaining during the summer months. The ground floor also boasts a utility room and handy storage space while the detached double garage provides secure parking for up to two cars. Upstairs, the en suites and fitted wardrobes in the two main bedrooms add an extra touch of convenience and luxury, while the fifth bedroom or study would make the ideal space for homeworking.

“On top of all this, the buyer of the ‘Farnham’ will benefit from the development’s enviable semi-rural location in an attractive village close to open countryside, yet only seven miles from Lincoln city centre.”

One family already enjoying the benefits of living in a ‘Farnham’ property are Sarah and Glyn Gogerty, and their two children, Cameron, 11, and Erin, eight, who moved to The Meadows last August.

Sarah, 38, said: “As we knew we were going to settle down in the next property we bought, we had to choose carefully to ensure the home we picked suited our lifestyle and needs. The ‘Farnham’ house type caught our eye online as the floor plan ticked all our boxes.

“The windows and French doors mean the house is always flooded with natural light – it’s a really lovely space. All the rooms are spacious and we’ve been able to create a separate games room for the children. The kids both have large bedrooms and Erin even has her own en suite.”

The Meadows is a development of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties. Find out more at chestnuthomes.co.uk.
