Launch Of Two Show Homes At Flagship Wimbledon Scheme

Posted 20 October 2021 by Keith Osborne

House-hunters in Wimbledon can now see two fully dressed apartments at Catalyst's development, The Switch...

Catalyst has revealed two brand new show homes at The Switch, the housing association’s flagship development in Wimbledon.

The one- and two-bedroom apartments offer a glimpse of what life could look like in this impressive development of 181 Shared Ownership apartments; part of Catalyst’s joint venture with Galliard Homes delivering 633 homes around a new 9,000-seat stadium for AFC Wimbledon.

Designed by Blocc Interiors, the two new show homes offer different takes on contemporary luxe living, making the most of the spacious open-plan living areas, high specification kitchens and bathrooms, and light-filled bedrooms.

The one-bedroom apartment features a warm palette of beiges and caramels, embellished with gold accessories to provide a high-end finish. The bedroom is a natural stand out, featuring a statement striped wallpaper, complemented by light wood furniture and an indulgent velvet bed.

The SwitchMeanwhile, the two-bedroom apartment brings the outside in with a palette of neutral greys offset by splashes of greenery, from the vibrant velvet sofa to a statement TV cabinet with a graphic palm leaf print.

Alongside the new show homes, buyers are being welcomed into a brand new sales office, itself converted from one of the sought-after duplex apartments on offer at The Switch.

Markus Kendall-Young, director of sales and marketing at Catalyst (London), commented: “Show homes offer a brilliant glimpse as to what it could be like to live in a development, as well as of course inspiring buyers to think how they might decorate and furnish their new home. In an area so rich with culture, it was really important these show homes were creative and memorable – hence the addition of hand-painted murals and luxurious finishes, leaving a lasting impact on buyers. We also put a lot of thought into the outdoor spaces, recognising just how important this is to first-time buyers. Both these apartments have terrific terraces which overlook the communal courtyard garden, which we dressed with lounging areas, a bar and a rug, demonstrating how these can become a natural extension of the living room.”

Catalyst’s collection of one- to three-bedroom Shared Ownership apartments are finished to a high specification, with private outdoor space accompanying nearly every home and all residents enjoying access to communal podium gardens. Kitchens are fitted with gloss grey designer units, stone worktops and integrated appliances, whilst bathrooms feature oak-veneered vanity units, mirrored cabinetry and tiled floors and walls. Select two- and three-bedroom apartments are set across two floors providing residents with a significant amount of living space rarely available in London apartments.

The SwitchClose by to The Switch is a wealth of green space including Wimbledon Park, Wandle Meadow Nature Park and Garratt Park. A vibrant food and culture scene can be found a 20-minute walk away at Tooting Bec Food Market offering a wide variety of gourmet street food. Closer by is Wimbledon Art Studios, a bespoke studio complex providing affordable art spaces for over 250 artists, makers and designers. Other Wimbledon highlights include over 120 shops, a large range of restaurants and bars, four theatres and the world-famous All England Tennis Club.

Residents can benefit from fantastic transport connections across the capital with Earlsfield station a 17-minute walk away providing a direct train service into London Waterloo from 13 minutes. Closer by, Haydons Road station has a 28-minute service into Blackfriars whilst for Tube connections both Wimbledon Park and Tooting Broadway can be reached in 20 minutes by foot.

Already established as a popular neighbourhood for raising a family, residents can enjoy close proximity to a range of well performing schools including Earlsfield Primary School and Garratt Park School.

Prices start from £97,500 for a 25% share of a one-bedroom apartment, (full market value £390,000), £140,000 for a 25% share of a two-bedroom apartment (full market value £560,000), and £153,750 for a 25% share of a three-bedroom apartment (full market value £615,000).
