Luxury Townhouses Unveiled In Glasgow

Posted 24 September 2020 by Keith Osborne

There are three new townhouse show homes at Jordanhill Park, the flagship CALA Homes scheme in Glasgow...

CALA Homes (West) has unveiled the latest show homes at its prestigious Jordanhill Park development, three types of luxury three-storey townhouses.

‘The Baird’, ‘The Elder’ and ‘The Rankine’ are the first of their type in the West of Scotland, forming part of the Oak Collection, which features 17 four- and five-bedroom townhouses. They feature interiors by renowned interior designer, Eileen Kesson, and furniture by high-end Danish interiors brand, BoConcept.

The housebuilder said: “The four-bedroom ‘Baird’ takes inspiration from rich textural wall coverings throughout, which give the home its warmth and stunning visual impact. Its ‘organic’ palette features shades of ochre and amber against a white base, perfectly complementing the pale wood and white furnishings throughout.

“Potential buyers will be wowed by the lounge’s stone-look Dekton-finish fire, and the striking white and concrete kitchen featuring matching BoConcept dining table illuminated by a super-scale pendant light in cork.

“The Baird also offers plenty of inspiration for bedroom décor, with its guest bedroom featuring a warm, inviting ‘weathered’ leather wall against a sleek and minimal king-size upholstered bed, with full-width matte velvet drapes for softness.”

Of the five-bedroom, mid-terrace ‘Elder’, CALA Homes commented: “[This] is a home truly designed with family living in mind, with a casual sitting room on the ground floor as well as a main lounge on the first floor.

“Boasting interiors that mirror the lush, leafy surroundings of Jordanhill Park, a palette of greens including olive, moss and sage are offset with on-trend blossom pink and chalky grey, while light, rusting herringbone flooring throughout the ground floor gives a relaxed, rural feel.

“For the ‘Elder’, Envision and BoConcept selected fashion-forward furniture such as the sitting room’s retro vintage velvet sofa in a mid-century design, and minimal bouclé sofas in the main lounge against plain olive pleated wallpaper and alongside a sculptural centrepiece of glass and stone nesting tables.

“Many of the walls throughout the home, including the kitchen, feature large-scale geometric panels, creating simple yet high-impact features. This kitchen sees the concrete elements carry through from the ‘Baird’ – this time coupled with clean-cut grey wood and expanding BoConcept dining table with matching chairs.

CALA show home“A double guest bedroom on the top floor brings the outdoors indoors with a mural wallpaper in a large-scale foliage design, with wall-mounted reading lights to keep the room clean and clutter free, yet cosy.”

The last of the trio, the five-bedroom ‘Rankine’, is the largest and inspired Eileen and her team to approach the interiors as they would a large-scale West End conversion – blending grandness of scale with contemporary luxury.

The housebuilder said: “Its kitchen, in soft pebble grey, showcases a distinctive ‘scorched charcoal’ unit that forms part of the new designer selections range on offer to buyers at Jordanhill Park, and boasts a large slate circular dining table and dark velvet armchairs under a contemporary crystal chandelier. The whole house complements the elegant and smart look that starts here, at the heart of the home.

“A signature colour combination of slate blue and smoky charcoal on a pale platinum base is used throughout the Rankine for a timeless, classic look with furnishings by BoConcept in primarily ‘espresso’ finishes with matte white lacquer for contrast.

“A full wall window in the airy first floor lounge allows light to flood in, showing off the asymmetric fire with floating granite hearth, modular velvet corner sofas and inset leather table stool against a ‘fractured’ effect wall covering.

“But it is the main bedroom in the ‘Rankine’ that interior designer, Eileen has called ‘a truly fabulous suite’, with king-size abstract timber bed flanked by drop-down bronze and black bedside pendant lamps. A rich, dark velvet swivel armchair provides additional retreat against a soft-textured suede and metallic wall covering – while the supersize spa-standard en-suite provide the perfect sanctuary for escape after a busy day, with its standalone curved bath for the ultimate ‘me-time’ treat.”

Interior designer Eileen Kesson of Envision, said: “It was truly a pleasure bringing this trio of fabulous townhouses to life. Each one is staged to reflect its individual character, but they all share the high-quality specification and standard that is synonymous with CALA.

“We were inspired by the surrounding landscape and the wider West End – with the latter particularly true for the ‘Rankine’ due to its scale – allowing us to reflect the organic landscape through colour and texture. The architecture of these new house designs inspired us to take a fresh and exciting approach to the styling of the show homes – nothing superfluous and everything considered.

“The architectural design and fresh thinking applied to the design of these homes sparked inspiration for us too in terms of showing how innovative and flexible three-storey living can be – showcasing alternative uses for spare bedrooms by rendering them as studies, for example, which ties in with the current trend towards home-working.

“The three homes offer options to suit a range of different family types and we’re confident those visiting with aspirations of living within the development will be inspired by what they see.”

CALA townhouseLiana Canavan, sales and marketing director at CALA Homes (West), said: “Jordanhill Park is our flagship development in the West of Scotland, and it’s fair to say that Eileen and her team at Envision have created interiors that reflect that level of prestige.

“Each of the three townhouses is outstanding in its own special way and, while they are truly spectacular, they have been designed so potential buyers can picture themselves living here. We’ve had fantastic feedback so far from those who have already taken a look around, and their versatility makes them perfect for couples as well as growing and established families. We’re exceptionally proud to be presenting these beautifully designed homes in such a fantastic location.

“The standard and quality of the design finish really has to be seen to be believed, so I would encourage anyone interested in finding out more to make an appointment to come and see the show homes first-hand. The release of these homes has been highly anticipated and interest has been high so we would urge anyone interested to get in touch.”

The townhouses at Jordanhill Park start from £589,995. The Oak Collection also includes the Walled Garden apartments, currently starting from £357,500 for a two-bedroom ‘Brook’ apartment.
