Bespoke Artwork For Edinburgh Buyers This Month

Anyone who reserves a two-bedroom apartment at The Crescent during July will be able to have a completely personalised piece of artwork commissioned for their new home by Charlie.

Taking inspiration from family photographs, favourite locations, musicians and much more, Charlie will create a truly personalised piece of art to be put on display within the lucky buyers’ homes, via Cala’s ‘Art of Stylish Living’ initiative.

Philip Hogg, sales and marketing director Cala Homes (East), says: “Since we launched the development here at The Crescent, we’ve always tried to do things a little differently and with the architecture here being a real focal point, we thought that we should keep with that theme and tie in with a piece of tailor-made artwork for anyone reserving here in July.

“With the Edinburgh Arts Festival starting on 28 July and carrying on throughout August, this seemed like the perfect time to launch this incentive and is another nod to the heritage of The Crescent tying into the city and all its key cultural moments. I can’t wait to see what Charlie and our home buyers create.”

Charlie Anderson, a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, whose work has been exhibited internationally including at the V&A Museum in London, says: “This is a fantastic project and one which I was really keen to get involved with. I created a piece of art for the penthouse launch here at The Crescent and took a lot of inspiration from the surrounding areas and the history on offer nearby. 

“This time it will be great to take a brief from the Cala clientele and see what they want to include. It’s a privilege to be able to create something which is really tailored and personal to them and will hang on these walls for many years to come.”

Charlie Anderson’s original artwork which was commissioned for the launch of the Penthouse at The Crescent and is now hanging in one of The Crescent’s brand new view apartments.
