Learn About Help To Buy In Berkshire This Saturday

Posted 24 July 2020 by Keith Osborne

Berkeley Homes is hosting a Help to Buy event on Saturday 25 July at Woodhurst Park in Warfield, Berkshire...

With a Stamp Duty holiday just announced by the government, those looking to buy a home between now and March next year won’t pay any of it on a property costing £500,000 or less. With this in mind, Berkeley Homes is hosting a Help to Buy event on Saturday 25 July for those who may be eager to find out more about purchasing their first home.

Completely free to attend, the event will be held at Woodhurst Park in Warfield, Berkshire, and attendees will be able to speak to independent financial advisors to receive free impartial advice, including information on purchasing homes with the popular government-backed shared equity scheme.

To attend, you must book an appointment via the Berkeley sales team in advance, as part of Covid-19 safety precautions to keep visitors and residents safe.

While there, visitors will also be welcome to visit the brand new show home at Willows Grove phase of the development. A one-bedroom apartment is complete with an individually designed fitted kitchen with integrated Bosch appliances, a glass splashback and ceramic floor tiles. The bathroom is fitted with contemporary Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware and Hansgrohe shower head. The stylish apartment also has an economical gas-fired boiler and underfloor heating.

Benjamin Ivey, director of sales and marketing at Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern), commented: “The Stamp Duty holiday really is a great opportunity to help many get onto the property ladder, as buyers will be able to save up to £15,000 on Stamp Duty alone. We are delighted to be welcoming prospective buyers to our event next Saturday so that they can learn more about the other aspects of buying a home, including more information on the Help to Buy scheme. We want to make sure that our homebuyers are well informed and are making the most of the support that is available to them.”

Woodhurst ParkLucy Burr, who has benefitted from using Help to Buy at Woodhurst Park, said: “We moved to Woodhurst Park almost two years ago, when we were renting a three-bedroom home to get a feel for the area. We fell in love with the house and development – there is so much open space and the kids couldn’t be happier attending the local school – so we knew we wanted to stay, which is why we bought our own property, an identical one in fact. We used the Help to Buy scheme, the process was so smooth and Berkeley Homes supported us every step of the way.”

Designed to create the feeling of a quintessential English village, Woodhurst Park is a development of 750 homes, where core elements of the English idyll have been recreated, including a country park, traditional village green, duck pond, children’s play areas, orchard park, tree-lined riverside cut and nature trails. Currently available here are one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, and three-, four- and five-bedroom houses. Prices start from £255,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. Help to Buy is available on all properties priced under £600,000.
