Berkeley Homes is hosting a Help to Buy event on Saturday 25 July at Abbey Barn Park in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire to inform first-time buyers on the latest government schemes available to them.

Homebuyers – attending by appointment only – will be able to receive free impartial advice from IFAs which includes information on how to save money by purchasing a property using the government-backed Help to Buy scheme and how to leverage the new Stamp Duty holiday.

The event takes place from 10.00am to 4.00pm and those interested in attending should book their slot via the Berkeley website as part of Covid-19 safety precautions to keep visitors and residents safe.

Abbey Barn Park is set in an elevated position with views across the valley bordered by a new country park and woodland, with the station and the town centre and its superb amenities just a few minutes’ drive away. The country park – The Ride – provides 34 acres of natural green space, a mix of open areas and established woodland, with beautiful walks on the doorstep, plus a fitness trail, orchards and play areas to enjoy. Visitors will also be welcome to visit the trio of brand new show homes recently opened at the development.

Benjamin Ivey, director of sales and marketing at Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern), commented: “The new Stamp Duty holiday is an added boost to the current government schemes such as Help To Buy available to first-time buyers keen to get their foot on the property ladder. This latest scheme provides buyers with the opportunity to save up to £15,000 on Stamp Duty alone, significantly reducing the savings required to make that first step.

“Our independent advisors will ensure that any prospective homebuyers are well informed and able to make the most of the support initiatives available.”

A recent first-time purchaser at the development, Aneesha Tawakley-Banjeree, explained: “We reserved a home at Abbey Barn Park during lockdown, using the government Help to Buy scheme. Some of our friends already own Berkeley properties in London and we were very impressed by the quality of design and the finish so we were confident enough to buy our home off-plan, without having seen the show homes.

“We loved the whole vision for the development and the setting is just beautiful. My husband enjoys keeping fit and so was delighted that the development will have fitness trails and woodland walks. This will also be lovely for us when we have children to enjoy it too.

“We were thrilled when we heard of the newly introduced Stamp Duty holiday – as it means we now have the added bonus of very little Stamp Duty to pay.”
