Launches In Chelmsford And Earls Colne This Weekend

Bellway is having a busy weekend in Essex as it launches new apartments and a show home in Chelmsford, and a new sales office and development of houses in Earls Colne on Saturday 14 November.

A new collection of apartments is set to open to the public in Chelmsford. Moderna House, off Regina Road, is the second apartment building to be built at Bellway’s Novello development on the edge of the city centre.

Bellway is opening a show home within Fresca House at the launch event, giving prospective buyers the chance to view a completed apartment.

The new apartment building will comprise 30 one- and two-bedroom homes next to the new pocket park being created by Bellway at the development.

Jenny Walker, sales director of Bellway Essex, said: “With work progressing well at Novello, we are launching a second building within this modern development of apartments, just five minutes from the centre of Chelmsford and everything the city has to offer.

“We have already seen high levels of interest in the scheme since the first apartments at Fresca House were released onto the market last year, showing there is strong demand for new housing in the area. We are now expecting a similar response to the launch of Moderna House, which enjoys an attractive location next to the new pocket park.”

One- and two-bedroom apartments remaining for sale in Fresca House, which is located off Victoria Road, are priced from £254,995 and £324,995 respectively. Prices at Moderna House will be confirmed at the launch.

Walker added: “The new show home at Novello is well worth viewing and anyone interested in attending the launch should book an appointment to come and see the development for themselves. Health and safety is paramount at Bellway, so all viewings will be conducted in line with social distancing guidelines, on an appointment-only basis.”

Novello will eventually comprise four buildings, with Vivace House and Giovane House the other two apartment blocks at the development. The first residents are due to move into their new apartments in Fresca House in December.

Harvard Place

Also opening on Saturday 14 November are the doors to a brand new on-site sales office at the 90-home Harvard Place development in Earls Colne, as it provides house-hunters with details of the first selection of its private homes for sale there. The sales office can be visited by appointment only for a one-to-one meeting following social distancing guidelines.

Bellway is building 54 private houses there, a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, with a further 36 new homes to be delivered as affordable housing. The development has been named Harvard Place in homage to the 1942 Harvard Warbird aircraft which can be seen flying over Essex from Earls Colne Airfield. Visitors to the airfield can take flying lessons and a flying experience in the Harvard, which was used during World War II as a fighter trainer.

Jenny Walker commented: “The countdown has officially started ahead of our development launch at Harvard Place. We anticipate the development being of real interest to a range of buyers in Earls Colne, with the site enjoying a quiet location near existing woodland and the River Colne, yet also within walking distance of the village centre and just an eight-minute drive from Halstead.

“We are building a high-quality mix of new housing here including two-bedroom houses which we expect to be ideal for first-time buyers, up to larger, detached four-bedroom family homes which benefit from the perfect rural setting to raise children in.

“Earls Colne has a rich history in aviation, and so naming the development in tribute to the nearby airfield and to a particular type of aircraft in the Harvard Warbird is something we are particularly pleased to do.”

As part of the plans for Harvard Place, Bellway is to retain a significant area of woodland which lies within the site boundary.
