Keith OsborneThe last few homes at a luxury Islington development are soon to be released as the developer celebrates sales success despite lockdown.
Cain International is delighted to reveal that Islington Square is nearly sold out, with over £125million of properties sold since May 2020 despite the market challenges resulting from the pandemic.
Instructed agent Beauchamp Estates has revealed that 80 properties have sold despite the restrictions, with 25 of these in the last six months as the final homes have been released. The properties sold comprised the luxury penthouse collection, maisonettes, and a mixture of studio suites, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with private balconies. A mixture of local buyers looking to upsize or downsize, as well as young entrepreneurs, families and professionals, have all found their dream home at the landmark mixed-use development.
The development’s lifestyle amenities and new vibrant community are a huge draw, with the array of luxe retail, restaurants, cafés, bars and leisure amenities giving buyers everything they want on their doorstep. This combines with the high-quality design and striking blend of architecture, making Islington Square somewhere Londoners want to call home.
Of the 169 private sale apartments, just a handful remain available, with the final exclusive ‘Zen Collection’ of eight homes due to be released this autumn. The glamorous penthouse collection sold out earlier this year achieving in excess of £2,200 per sq ft, with the average property sold in the last year achieving £1,450 per sq ft.
Islington Square is the mixed-use development that has transformed the historic Edwardian former Royal Mail sorting office located just behind Upper Street. It offers a vibrant new district of Islington, with boutique shops, restaurants and leisure amenities forming 170,000 sq ft of commercial space, alongside 263 new homes and 108 serviced apartments. Amenities include a luxury health club by Third Space and a Luxe & Dine cinema by Odeon, alongside sought-after restaurants and cafés, a theatre, boutique grocery, as well as regular wellbeing workshops, outdoor food markets and yoga classes.
The final apartments are located in the buildings 11 Esther Anne Place and 17 Esther Anne Place, striking modern designs complementing the scheme’s restored architecture. The contemporary fitted kitchens have integrated A-rated appliances and sleek stone worktops; there is marble-effect tiling to the bathrooms, bespoke sliding wardrobes to the main bedrooms; engineered oak timber flooring throughout, and underfloor heating.
Every home has access to landscaped communal gardens which enjoy spectacular views over the London skyline and bustling Islington. There is 24-hour site-wide security and concierge with secure underground parking and bicycle storage facilities available.
The development is located just a short walk away from both Angel station (Northern line) and Highbury and Islington station (London Overground and Victoria line), and has access to an extensive network of buses from Upper Street, with excellent transport links enabling residents to reach The City in approximately ten minutes and the West End in 20 minutes.
Yahya Swallem of Beauchamp Estates said: “We are delighted with how popular Islington Square has proven to be, with buyers drawn to the lifestyle on offer. Despite the challenge of lockdown restrictions, since the property market reopened last May we have successfully sold over 80 properties at the landmark development to a range of buyers. The dynamic community of new residents is nearly complete, with the vibrant mixture of boutique shops, leisure amenities, restaurants and grocers and good transport links creating a sought-after destination.”
Prices for the remaining apartments at Islington Square start from £685,000. Find out more at [email protected].
