New Apartments Launched At Harrow Development
Posted 4 September 2023 by
Helen ChristieIn a nod to iconic English photographer James Robertson, Barratt London has announced the launch of the Robertson Apartments at its site Eastman Village in Harrow, which offers a selection of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
Located on the site of the former Kodak film factory, Eastman Village is part of a larger £1.75bn improvement scheme in Harrow which will include two new schools, 3,000 jobs, shops, leisure facilities and commercial space. The area offers five different train lines running into the capital, and a choice of more than 30 local schools in Harrow that have been given the top Ofsted rating of “Outstanding”, making the development an ideal location for families and commuters alike.
The newest launch at Eastman Village is six-storeys, with a collection of one-, two-and three-bedroom layouts with spacious open-plan living and a balcony or terrace, providing residents with that all-important outdoor space. The space also continues inside the apartments, with their open layout and terraces available on selected three-bedroom homes.
There is plenty of green space in the surrounding areas. These new homes will be set next to a 2.4-hectare landscaped park which will serve as the new Green Link in the heart of residential Harrow. The block will also be positioned next to the extension of the link which leads into the recently restored Headstone Manor park, part of the ‘Parks for People’ project
Due for completion in late 2025, the new building has the added benefit of being one of the nearest blocks to London Overground links at Eastman Village. There is also a planned residents' gym, cafés, restaurant, and an on-site supermarket as part of the new block.
For Eastman Village, WhatHouse? Award-winning Barratt London is working with prolific architect Pollard Thomas Edwards to build 2,000 modern homes that blend seamlessly with the iconic site. The design features red bricks throughout the development to reference the original Kodak buildings, while subtle graphics in the signage and balcony screens are inspired by the site’s rich heritage.
Such is Barratt London’s dedication in retaining its heritage, that it has also ensured the preservation of the iconic factory chimney at the development. This can be found in the same building as the site’s new eco-friendly energy centre which will heat homes at the development.
Joseph Antoniazzi, sales and marketing director for Barratt West London comments: “Eastman Village is a landmark project in the area. The regeneration of the site is providing a beautiful place to live that blends history with modern living. The latest phase at Eastman Village, Robertson Apartments, integrates perfectly into the development. We expect it will appeal to investors and buyers moving from the local and surrounding areas.”
The development is extremely well connected, and residents can reach Euston Station in just 13 minutes by train from Harrow & Wealdstone station. For residents who travel via the underground, Harrow & Wealdstone station is just a 12-minute walk away from the village and has direct links to the Bakerloo line. This enables central London living in zone 5. And, for those looking to travel further afield the development is in close proximity to the new TfL Superloop which will soon connect Harrow to Heathrow, North Finchley, White City and multiple key outer-London towns.
Education is also an important aspect of living in Harrow. The town is best known for the prestigious school that bears its name, but it also has plenty more excellent schools for its residents. In fact, 98% of schools in Harrow are judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’, making it an ideal choice for families.
There are 46 residences at the Robertson Apartments, featuring one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with a balcony and terrace in all homes. Prices start from £339,000.
