Housebuilder Backhouse has launched its much-anticipated Midsomer development in the Somerset’s Mendip Hills. Prospective buyers are now able to view plans, site orientation and reserve off-plan from the sales and marketing suite.

Backhouse is building a mix of 40 three-, four- and five-bedroom new homes on Silver Street including 12 affordable. The properties will be characterised by the award-winning housebuilder’s thoughtful approach to design in partnership with the acclaimed regional architects, Clifton Emery Design.

The new residential development, situated close to Midsomer Norton’s new primary school, will be a big draw for homebuyers looking to settle in the sought-after location as well as being excellent to commute to Bath and Bristol.

Each individual home will showcase Backhouse’s design style and spacious practical layout, featuring generous ceiling heights and plenty of natural light from larger windows. The specification of fixtures and fittings in each home includes central islands in spacious kitchens, feature fireplaces and rainfall showers in bathrooms and fitted storage. Homeowners will have the convenience of off-street parking for two cars and an additional garage with the five-bedroom Manor House.

The development will benefit from generous open green spaces, featuring places for local residents to meet and enjoy living in the local community.

Emily Adams, head of sales at Backhouse, commented: “This Backhouse scheme, which has already received high levels of local interest, will include homes to suit a range of buyers including – first-time buyers, second steppers, families and downsizers.

“Undoubtedly, this latest scheme in Midsomer Norton will follow Backhouse’s ethos – to create ‘forever’ new homes at affordable prices that deliver the very best in modern living. Our homes reflect the best-in-class design, quality and lifestyle that buyers would like to find in this friendly town. The attraction of the glorious city of Bath and the vibrant town of Frome located just 10 miles away add to the appeal of living in this semi-rural town.”
