New Bury St Edmunds Development Opens To Homebuyers

Keith OsborneAshberry Homes has launched its Saxon Heath development off Marham Parkway with the opening of a sales office and two show houses.
The developer is building 132 new homes on the site, including 100 new two-, three- and four-bedroom homes for private sale and 32 affordable properties for local people through rent or Shared Ownership.
Emma Hawkins, sales manager for Ashberry Homes, said: “There has been a great deal of interest in homes at Saxon Heath since we launched online in August last year. Now that we are welcoming visitors onto the development that interest has increased.
“We have opened the doors to two show homes on the site and they are proving very popular with a steady stream of bookings. The show homes – the three-bedroom ‘Orchid’ and the four-bedroom ‘Lisianthus’ – have been expertly dressed by our team of interior designers and give visitors the opportunity to visualise life in one of these quality homes.
“The selection of two- to four-bedroom homes here is attracting a wide range of buyers to the site. We have had first-time buyers and young couples impressed by the two- and three-bedroom properties while the four-bedroom houses have the space that growing families are looking for.
“We have had a mix of local people and buyers from further afield looking at the site. We have had purchasers, who live in the town, downsizing to stay near family and friends, while other buyers are from places like Cambridge and Ely. People living and working in Cambridge are realising that they can get so much more house for their money here and still commute to the office in less than an hour. The site’s location is ideal as it is close to the A14 which connects to Cambridge and Ipswich and there is a regular train service from Bury St Edmunds which gets to Cambridge in about 45 minutes.”
Saxon Heath will form a major part of Marham Park, a new neighbourhood by a consortium of housebuilders that is set to deliver around 1,000 new homes in the town.
Ashberry Homes will be joined by Bellway in delivering a total of 330 homes at Marham Park, with work at Bellway’s neighbouring development, Bronze Fields, also underway.
Emma Hawkins said: “Saxon Heath is an attractive development sitting on the edge of the prestigious Bury St Edmunds Golf Club which has an 18-hole course. Having a championship course next door is proving enticing for many visitors as golfers are anticipating playing there while everyone else loves the view of the cultured wide-open spaces that the club provides.
“There is a type of home at Saxon Heath to meet the needs of most buyers but I would advise anyone who wants to live in this part of Bury St Edmunds to contact our sales team as soon as possible as demand remains strong.”
There is currently a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Saxon Heath, with prices starting at £274,995. Find out more at ashberryhomes.co.uk.
