Last Two Homes For Sale At Shortstown Scheme

Posted 5 July 2021 by Keith Osborne

Just one three-bed and one five-bed house remain for sale at Ashberry Homes' Sycamore Avenue, near Bedford...

All but two of the homes have now been sold at Sycamore Avenue in Shortstown, where construction work is due to be completed later this year.

Ashberry Homes is building 87 homes at the site off Conder Boulevard, including a mix of two- to five-bedroom properties for sale. The first homes went on the market in October 2019 with the first residents moving onto the development early last year. Ashberry Homes is expecting all the homes to be sold this summer, just 18 months after the site launched.

Sycamore Avenue is part of a wider development which is transforming the land formerly occupied by RAF Cardington.

Rachael Gatehouse, sales manager for Ashberry Homes Eastern Counties, said: “Sycamore Avenue is an elegant development providing a high-quality range of homes for housebuyers at different stages of the property ladder.

Located just four miles from Bedford town centre, the site borders picturesque open countryside and benefits from a selection of amenities, including shops, play areas and New Cardington Park, right on its doorstep.

“Many families have settled at the development, which is situated near a number of well-regarded schools, including Shortstown Primary School, which was built as part of the wider development. There has been particularly strong demand from people previously living in London. Sycamore Avenue offers these buyers much better value for money and greater access to open space while still being within easy commuting distance of the capital.”

The final homes available at Sycamore Avenue are the three-bedroom ‘Townsend’, priced at £317,995, and the five-bedroom ‘Osier’, priced at £539,995.
