Impressive New London Homes South Of The Thames

There's a huge variety of new home types for different budgets on the market now across boroughs in south London...

There’s a busy property market across the capital but here, the WhatHouse? team focuses on some of the brand new homes coming to boroughs on the south side of the River Thames.

Galliard Homes is hosting a sales weekend at Wimbledon Grounds on Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April. It takes place over with a ‘meet and greet’ marquee and in-person tours of no fewer than 13 show apartments for prospective buyers, with prices starting from £329,995. Also available are furniture packs from New Concept Furnishings, priced from £5,000 to £7,000, which include beds and sofas, soft furnishings including rugs and made-to-measure blinds a wide range of accessories ranging from lamps and mirrors, to kitchen utensils and cleaning products.

Wimbledon GroundsWimbledon Grounds is a 51,000-sqm, mixed-use regeneration scheme adjoining the brand new and fully built stadium of AFC Wimbledon at the club’s original home on Plough Lane. Within the development, Stadia Three comprises 114 homes, of which just 20 remain, and the centrepiece Stadia One, with the first of 364 homes recently released off-plan due to complete in Q2/Q3 this year.

The sales launch will take place on Friday 16 April from 3.00pm, Saturday 17 April from 10.00am and Sunday 18 April from 11.00am. Developer Tailored Living Solutions has announced that there are just two apartments remaining for sale at Two Three Seven Brixton Hill, its design-led, high-tech development in a well-served part of the city. Fully launched in Q4 2020, the development has achieved strong sales success, giving keys to buyers – mostly first-timers – in 12 of the 14 available properties, in little under three months since completion.

Half of the apartments on offer at the Swanne House development in Greenwich were purchased within five hours on the first day of the recent sales launch. It is the former staff accommodation for Greenwich police station, standing empty for some years, and has now been converted by The Malins Group into four one-bedroom suites, nine three-bedroom duplexes and eight three-bedroom plus study, rooftop duplex apartments, all with access to outside space and designed with an ‘industrial vibe’ and excellent specification.

Swanne HouseThere is cycle and private storage and a parcel delivery area, plus residents' parking available for all three-bedroom apartments. The sales are currently off-plan, with the show apartment due to launch in June. The development is expected to complete in September 2021.

Also in Greenwich is Teulon House, just launched by estate agents KALMARs on behalf of developer Featherstone Homes. It comprises 24 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 581 sq ft up to 982 sq ft. Each has large windows, with some having good-sized private balconies or terraces. The specification includes Karndean flooring, underfloor heating to bathrooms and en suites, and bespoke fitted wardrobes to bedroom one in all apartments. There’s also a communal courtyard with planting, seating and a play area.

Independent brewer Sambrook’s has pulled its first pint at Ram Quarter, Britain’s oldest continuously working brewery and former home of Young’s. A taproom will follow in the summer with space for events as well. It is part of a development by Greenland which has transformed the heart of Wandsworth town, already delivering half of the planned 700+ new build and conversion homes there.
