Commitment To Communities From Housebuilder In East Scotland

Posted 9 March 2022 by Lizzie Leigh

We speak to Lisa Archibald from Dandara East Scotland about what makes Dandara different…

Dandara East Scotland’s Lisa Archibald, head of sales, tells us about her role and the housebuilder’s five-star status…

Hi Lisa, can you tell us about your role at Dandara?

My role is extremely varied and no two days are ever the same, but that’s one of the aspects I enjoy most about it! I am responsible for the sales function across Dandara East Scotland and I am part of the senior management team. I manage a team of five sales executives, two sales administrators and one field sales manager. I work closely with all other areas of the business including finance, customer care, commercial, technical and our land department.

What do you consider to be Dandara's USP, what makes Dandara different?

Dandara is one of the largest independent developers in the UK and has been creating and building beautiful, award-winning homes for over 30 years. Having recently been awarded five-star status for customer satisfaction by the Home Builders Federation, Dandara builds both new homes and commercial property that combine innovative design with the highest standards of quality, specification and outstanding customer service. Our people are collaborative, forward thinking and committed, they do what they do so customers can find the perfect new home, in the perfect location. From the point of land acquisition until long after the development is completed, Dandara is fully committed to the communities in which it builds. This can vary from supporting local charities and businesses to improving infrastructure and local amenities.

Lisa Archibald (Dandara)

Your role is based in East Scotland, how's the area performing at the moment?

The market in our operating area is extremely buoyant at the moment. Our enquiry levels have remained high over the last 12 months with buyers still seeking more outside space along with adequate space to work from home. There is a lack of available properties coming to the market which is increasing demand.

What would you consider to be the main benefits of buying a brand new home?

  • Our customers pay a fixed price for their new home, no bidding war on second-hand homes
  • Energy efficiency
  • Warranty provision
  • Option to personalise your new home with optional extras

Can you tell us about the schemes you're currently marketing?

We are offering Assisted Move on a few selected homes only. The market is very strong at the moment and there is no demand for Part Exchange. We are offering great incentive packages including flooring and help with legal fees & LBTT on a few homes at our Eskbank Gardens’ development.

What are the latest interior trends that are proving most popular at your schemes?

Very bold dark colours such as indigo kitchens with gold fixtures, along with warm tones such as copper and green.

Do you think the pandemic has changed what we want from our home for good?

Yes, very much so. Our buyers are more focused on their homes and want more outside space, shared living space and open plan areas. Working from home has become the norm for many, so a dedicated quiet space is very important too!

And finally, what's in the pipeline for Dandara for the rest of 2022?

We have great forward sales for the remainder of the year, along with exciting new developments planned in East Lothian, Edinburgh city centre and the Central Belt.
