Attention To Detail Is Key With Family-Run Housebuilder

Posted 26 January 2022 by Helen Christie

Hollins Homes’ Mark Yates, sales and marketing director, tells us how this family-run business gives buyers the chance to purchase something unique...

We speak to Mark Yates, sales and marketing director for Hollins Homes and hear how new home sales are booming as buyers look to personalise their interior spaces…

Mark, how is 2022 treating you all at Hollins Homes so far?

Fantastic thank you, we have quite a few developments coming up this year so we are excited to launch them to market.

Your ‘coming soon’ development is called The Foothills, a scheme of new build homes in Rossendale, Lancashire, can you tell us a bit more about them?

The Foothills is a collection of eighty three-, four- and five-bed homes, built in stone and render finishes to complement the local heritage and breathtaking scenery of Rossendale.

Who do you think the homes will appeal to?

We tend to mainly attract couples & families but it’s by no means set in stone as our homes attract interest across a wide demographic. We already have a 400+ database with interest locally and the surrounding areas, as well as those wishing to relocate and commute to a community where they can properly relax and unwind.

And what other schemes are you marketing at the moment?

We have completely sold out at our sites in Aston and Newton so we currently have Hartley Grange in Westhoughton, Bolton and Churchfields in Tilstock, near Whitchurch.

What do you think it is that makes a Hollins Home different to other new homes?

With a preference for quality over quantity, we pride ourselves on our attention to detail. Our developments are carefully planned with great focus given to our locations, layout and community spaces. It’s a family-run business and everyone within the company gets to contribute and is listened to. This filters through and is reflected in the customer journey and final product. Being smaller we have the luxury of being able to react quickly, act upon customer feedback/suggestions and we actively welcome this from our purchasers. Our developments are more unique and bespoke rather than big volume sites of the same product and this uniqueness is what a lot of our potential customers are turning to these days – they don’t want to see hundreds of the same type of homes.

Are people demanding different types of homes since the pandemic, in terms of layout and location?

I think location has always been important however there is an increased awareness of the functionality and layout of the spaces. There is a lot more thought given to the interior design and feel of the home, they want it to be flexible and unique, to reflect their lifestyles and personalities whilst still being practicable and functional.

You work in other locations such as Manchester and Nantwich, is there one particular spot that’s outperforming others at the moment?

I have to say they are all in high demand in the present climate. We have seen great growth in the West Midlands and our sites in Cheshire and Lancashire always perform incredibly well.

Do potential buyers get the opportunity to choose fixtures, fittings and interior design styles when they purchase with you?

They certainly do and we regularly have purchasers spending upwards of £20,000 loving the process of personalising their homes. For example, our customers can meet with our kitchen designers and truly build a space to suit their needs and wishes.

Are you offering buyers any particular incentives when buying?

We offer a key worker incentive.

Finally, looking further ahead into 2022, what other schemes do you have in the pipeline?

We are very excited to be launching Riverside Walk in beautiful Garstang and Galloways Reach at Galgate, Lancaster later this year. We also have some amazing future developments in incredible locations yet to be revealed - so watch this space.
