Discover wallpapers that are bang on trend for Spring 2020...

Florals? for Spring? Absolutely. WhatHouse? uncovers eight new floral wallpaper prints that you will want to know about this season, direct from the Pearl Lowe collection at Woodchip and Magnolia.

Combining a passion for all things colour and pattern, as well as solid technical experience in manufacturing, Woodchip & Magnolia is a family-run business producing unique wallpapers, fabrics and furniture collections from a Lancashire studio. Pearl Lowe is a renowned English fashion and textiles designer.

Founded by Nina Marika Tarnowski after 17 years as Design Manager and Senior Wallpaper Stylist at one of nation’s leading wallpaper design houses (Graham & Brown), and her husband Paul, Woodchip and Magnolia have more than 30 years’ industry experience and a determination to do things their own way that is as bold as their designs. The latest collection, launched March 2020, sees a range of eight new floral wallpaper prints under the fashion designer Pearl Lowe's name.

The wallpapers offer up an on-trend look for the season ahead, and a great way to update your interiors at home or to inject some character andpersonality into a new build property.

Here's the eight prints and the inspiration behind them:

1. Wisteria in Lemon Yellow
Fresh, fun and fruity, Wisteria in Lemon Yellow delivers a dose of sunshine as spring descends. A citric take on Pearl Lowe’s timeless Wisteria design, Wisteria in Lemon Yellow will lift even the bleakest of days.

2. Faded Glamour in Vintage Green
Spring has most definitely sprung, and this take on Pearl Lowe’s Faded Glamour brings gorgeous greens to the fore. Here florals in all hues blossom against a spring green backdrop, a scene familiar to many green-fingered gardeners. Soothing and inviting, Faded Glamour in Vintage Green has spring styling sorted.

3. Va Va Frome Meadow Green
If ever a design captured the essence of spring, this is it. Vibrant, airy and fresh, its soft shades of pastel green contrast beautifully against a crisp white backdrop, while its luscious leaves will transport you to a tropical rainforest. Drawing adoration wherever it is hung, this fresh colourway will look particularly fabulous in the kitchen or bathroom.

4. Faded Glamour in Oatmeal
Inspired by Pearl’s own signature style, Faded Glamour epitomises rustic opulence. Romantic and whimsical, its array of colourful florals transports spring gardens in full bloom into the home.
The Cream Oatmeal background invokes a warmth often absent from ‘glamourous’ designs and brings an overall feeling of contentment.

5. Wisteria in Linen
Keeping it close to home, Pearl’s inspiration for her Wisteria design is literally her own back-garden.

"I only realised how beautiful wisteria was when we bought a house along a river. The wisteria came out in May and it was the most enchanting thing I ever saw."

Her cream/charcoal creation pares back the colour and lets the design do all the talking; simple and chic, it showcases the deep beauty of this most delightful of florals.

6. Faded Glamour in Pretty Pink
Inspired by Pearl’s own signature style, Faded Glamour epitomises rustic opulence. Romantic and whimsical, its array of colourful florals transport spring gardens in full bloom into the home.
The blush pink background invokes a friendy warmth wherever it's used.

7. Va Va Frome Noir/Green
Brooding and defiant, Va Va Frome Noir Green makes no apologies for its decadence. And nor should it. Rich, bold and an absolute stunner of a design, Va Va Frome in Noir Green brings biophilia – the connection between plants and people – to the fore.

8. Wisteria in Latte/Slate Grey
A more mature take on Pearl Lowe’s classic Wisteria design, the Latte/Charcoal Grey colourway lets the intricate floral design take centre stage. Resplendent in grey, charcoal and white, it is striking in its simplicity.
