If you`re looking for a one, two, three or four-bedroom home in a thriving town centre for facilities and amenities, being near main routes for commuting to work, and enjoying easy access to the countryside, Woodlark Place could be ideal for you. Newbury is large enough to have all the retail, leisure, sports, and educational facilities you might need, but its small enough to have the character and welcoming feel of an old market town.

The A34 connecting Oxford and Winchester bypasses the town to the west, and the M4 is just to the north. The North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is on the doorstep, connecting Newburys home county of Berkshire, with Wiltshire, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire.

Shopping

Newbury is famous for its racecourse, and that great tradition has helped the town to thrive. It is home to supermarkets, high street brands, independent retailers, caf£s, pubs, and restaurants. Thatcham is another residential and retail area, on the eastern outskirts of Newbury, with an excellent range of facilities and amenities. The River Kennet provides the town with a wonderful leisure opportunity, as you can stroll along the towpaths and watch the longboats work their way through the famous series of locks. Local green spaces include Greenham, Crookham, and Snelsmore Commons.

Transport

Newbury is in an enviable location, halfway between Oxford and Winchester. It's an excellent base to set off from if you need to commute. The A34 and the M4 are the two key road routes that are on hand. They intersect at Junction 13 of the M4 at Chieveley, just 3 miles away. Another excellent connection from the A34 is with the A303, it crosses the A34 between Basingstoke and Andover. These roads enable access to the South Coast, the Midlands, London, Bristol, and South Wales. The town has the benefit of two stations, Newbury, and Newbury Racecourse.

Education

If you have secondary-age children, the town has three main secondary schools: St Bartholomew's, Park House, and Trinity School. There is a small co-educational secondary school in Burghclere, a short distance south of Newbury. The excellent range of primary schools in the area includes village schools in the communities close to Newbury. There are also several schools in the independent sector to choose from. Newbury College is the further and higher education provider.
