Deposit Unlock Scheme Launch For East Scotland Homes
House-hunters looking to buy a property in Edinburgh or Roslin now have the opportunity to secure a new home with just a 5% deposit, following Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s announcement that a new Deposit Unlock scheme is available on selected new homes at two of its developments.
The new Deposit Unlock scheme is available on selected homes including the ‘Andrew’ two-bedroom mid-terrace home from £229,500 at Bankfield Brae in Edinburgh, and from £268,000 for the ‘Baxter’ three-bedroom semi-detached home at Sinclair Gardens in Roslin, Midlothian.
The scheme, which has been developed by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and mortgage lenders, means that both first-time buyers and existing homeowners can purchase a new-build home up to the value of £750,000 with a 5% deposit.
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland said: “Saving for a deposit can be one of the biggest barriers to home ownership and so we’re delighted to be offering Deposit Unlock at our Bankfield Brae and Sinclair Gardens developments. The scheme will give customers with a 5% deposit access to mortgage products with competitive interest rates and will help to make buying a new home more affordable.
“Our sales team is on hand to talk customers through the scheme and how it could help them to join the growing community at either Bankfield Brae or Sinclair Gardens.”
