New Development Launched In Thames Ditton

Posted 11 April 2023 by Helen Christie

Sigma Homes has launched Merrywood, a new development in the village of Thames Ditton…

West-Sussex based developer Sigma Homes has launched Merrywood, an £18m development located in the Surrey village of Thames Ditton, just south west of London.

The development consists of 26 apartments and houses, and the prime 1.2-acre site presents a unique opportunity to own a premium energy-efficient family home in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the country.

Located off Weston Green, the first phase of Sigma Homes’ brownfield development site will be transformed into 12 three-bedroom semi-detached houses, which will be ready to move into from December 2023. The spacious homes range from £1.1m to £1.15m, each offering 1,370sq.ft. of high-quality accommodation, designed for the requirements of modern living.

Geoff Potton, chief executive of Sigma Homes, says: “Thames Ditton is often described as the perfect suburban village, as it offers an idyllic riverside lifestyle. Due to the connectivity into central London, Thames Ditton is highly sought-after by commuters, while there is also a wide range of quality schooling for local families. The features that make living here so special are the array of picturesque buildings and traditional architecture, the outstanding parkland and riverside, and the thriving high street with cafes, boutique shopping and community facilities. With energy prices at record levels, our Merrywood development will provide a much-needed boost to the village’s supply of new energy efficient homes. We are very pleased to be on track to deliver the first phase of 12 family houses before the end of this year. While we continue to make progress with the construction programme, this is an ideal time for prospective purchasers to get in touch and book an appointment to view the plans.”

Merrywood (Sigma Homes)

Sigma Homes utilises timber-frame construction in order to maximise thermal efficiency. The collection of houses and apartments at Merrywood have been designed to include architectural references found in the surrounding towns and villages. Each home will benefit from an EV charging point and is being built to a high EPC-B rating.

The internal accommodation for the three-bedroom homes has been designed across two and half floors and includes a dedicated study in addition to the bedrooms. There will be contemporary kitchens with Bosch appliances, fitted wardrobes to all bedrooms, and high-quality vinyl and carpeting provided as standard throughout.

Bordering the north east side of the boundary is Esher Sixth Form College, and the development is a short walk away from Thames Ditton train station, which offers frequent, 30-minute train services to London Waterloo. There are a further three train stations also within walking distance, providing journeys to London and further afield. Local amenities, and bus stops offering connections to the nearby towns of Esher and Kingston-upon-Thames, are found on Hampton Court Way (A309), accessed off Weston Green Road. Other nearby towns include Walton on Thames and Weybridge.
