Phase 2 of apartments launched at Islington Square development

Keith OsborneWith some 60% of the apartments released to date now sold, joint venture developers Sager Group and Cain Hoy have now released a second phase of suites and apartments at their Islington Square development off Upper Street in the fashionable corner of north London.
With a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom properties, the new phase offers residents with views over private and communal green spaces, together with a fantastic location that puts Islington’s diverse mix of restaurants, bars, cafés, shops and leisure venues right on the doorstep. Prices start at £715,000.
The development combines the redevelopment of an Edwardian building, which was once a sorting office, and a former pub with a number of brand new buildings, set over a 4.5-acre site just back from Islington’s main shopping street. The development has been designed by award-winning architect Piers Gough of CZWG Architects (who were involved in part of the development around Arsenal FC's Emirates stadium nearby) with many bespoke features and bathrooms designed by Amos and Amos.
The new phase has show apartments furnished by interior designer Nicola Fontanella of Argent Design, who has worked for a number of A-list celebrities and who brings glamour to the new homes here. She has fitted out one- and two-bedroom apartments in a style inspired by the Georgian history of the site, with designer furniture herringbone upholstery, and loft-style joinery to reflect some of the industrial heritage of the area.
In addition to its 263 new residential units, the Islington Square scheme also offers 170,000 sq ft of retail and leisure facilities itself, which has proved just as successful as the new homes. Around two-thirds of the space is already under offer or exchanged, with a great mix of brands promised, including commitment from The Lounge by Odeon cinema, a Third Space health club and 108 serviced apartments from Citadines.
