Cambridgeshire Couple Thrilled To Move Ahead Of Schedule
Posted 7 September 2023 by
Helen ChristieA couple have been able to move into their new home at Linden Homes’ Quantum Fields development early.
The early completion date was particularly helpful for Kasia Grzegolec and Radoslaw Jermacz as they are getting married in Las Vegas in September, so now won’t be juggling two major life events within the same month.
The couple, who met at work seven years ago, have bought a three-bedroom semi-detached house at Linden Homes’ Quantum Fields location in Littleport, near Ely.
Kasia, 27, says: “We feel very lucky. We were originally not meant to move in until September, so when we were offered a move-in date in July, we were thrilled as this was so much quicker than expected. It created ease for us, as it gave us time between these two major events in our lives and meant we could settle in and then look forward to getting married in Las Vegas. We are so excited for this.”
Kasia and Rad were both born in Poland and found each other when they ended up working at the same place in Cambridgeshire.
Rad, 33, now works as a warehouse supervisor and gets lift shares into work, while Kasia works as sales coordinator for the EU market.
They were previously renting a home together in Ely, having moved a few different times over the past few years, and decided that the next move would be to a place that could be their own. They wanted to stay in the Ely area, near to where they both work.
They were recommended Quantum Fields by a friend who works as a lorry driver delivering road surfacing materials to the site.
Kasia continues: “Our friend mentioned to us that the Quantum Fields site seemed very good quality and we had to go and check it out, so it was actually the first development we went to see. We checked out the website and instantly knew that the Turner style of house was the one that we wanted. The design for the house had personality and it was a corner house, meaning it was more of a unique layout. We attended the first open day on the site when the first set of houses were released. However, the house we wanted was still in the early stages of its construction. There was no roof and just walls. We took the risk and decided that this was the house for us, even though we had no idea what it was going to end up looking like. A week after going to the open event we had bought the house.”
Kasia and Rad ended up visiting their new home on several occasions throughout the construction process.

Kasia recalls: “It felt like it became a part of us as we watched it become a home for us. The sales advisors also contacted us whenever there was a progress update on our home which we found very informative.”
The couple had been saving for some time and were also helped with their deposit by Kasia’s mum.
Kasia says: “We did not want our deposit to be our only goal with our savings. We both love travelling and wanted to be able to have our own place while still being able to travel. It was tough, putting most of our earnings to saving to afford both, but it is worth every penny to us. My mum helped towards the deposit down on the house, as she wanted to help us get on the property ladder. Rad’s mum has also now flown over on a plane for the first time to come from Poland and see us in our new home.”
The couple are now enjoying settling into life in their new home.
Kasia finishes: “We are currently using one of our spare rooms as a storage place whilst we unpack everything. But when it is all unpacked and settled, we want to turn the room into an office and gaming room, creating a space for us to relax in. We love being able to have our own home now. It feels homely already, which is what we didn’t get to feel when renting as we couldn’t make it our own. Now we have the ability to put photos on our walls and add our own touch to the house. The open-plan kitchen and living area has to be one of our favourite rooms. It is very bright and there are windows around the room. It all just feels very fresh and spacious.”
