Home of the Day – Two-bedroom house, David Lee

Posted 19 August 2020 by Keith Osborne

Our favourite new home for sale is a two-bedroom terraced house at Hazel Park in Essex, on sale through David Lee…

The WhatHouse? team takes a close look at our current favourite new build home for sale – today it is a two-bedroom home at the Hazel Park development in the hamlet of Hazel End in Essex, available through Shared Ownership via estate agent David Lee.

Hazel Park is a Clarion Housing development close to the village of Birchanger, on the north-eastern fringe of the popular and well-connected Hertfordshire town of Bishop’s Stortford. Plot 8 on Grant Road is available under Shared Ownership (sometimes referred to as part buy-part rent). This 770-sq-ft house is mid-terrace and has an entrance hall, downstairs WC, a kitchen at the front of the house, a living room with lots of glazing and double doors to the garden at the rear, two double bedrooms and a family bathroom. This home also comes with two allocated parking spaces. It is for sale at £146,000 for a 40% share, based on a full market value of £365,000. The rent for the remaining share is £501.88 and there is a monthly service charge of approximately £60.

For those who love the outdoors, this is a great part of the world with miles and miles of open countryside dotted with characterful villages. Hazel Park is also very close to the many shops, amenities and places to eat at drink in Bishop’s Stortford, which also provides regular commuter rail services into London Liverpool Street taking under 40 minutes. In the other direction is Stansted Airport in as little as nine minutes, making Hazel Park ideal for people who travel a lot or work at the airport.
