Housebuilder’s Bespoke Incentives On Brand New London Homes

A housebuilder in London is inviting potential buyers to find out more about its offer of a bespoke assistance package to help them secure the brand new home they want at a number of developments in the capital.

While almost all house-hunters find it a challenge buying a new home in this difficult economic climate, especially first-time buyers, Higgins Homes has realised that there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ when it comes to the solution. Instead, its newly launched #HomesComfort scheme provides individual, tailored assistance to tackle barriers to homeownership and moving up the housing ladder.

Available to buyers of properties at the multiple WhatHouse? Award-winning family-owned company’s developments at New Stratford Works, The Garratt Collection in Wandsworth and école in Bermondsey, #HomesComfort is designed to be personal, flexible and practical in its approach to helping both first-time buyers and those hoping to make a move into their forever home.

In such a challenging economic environment, the biggest difficulty for first-time buyers is usually saving a large enough deposit. Higgins Homes understands this challenge and has responded with a range of financial incentives to address this issue. These include the option of a 5% deposit top-up, potentially taking the deposit from 10% to 15%, or buyers could take advantage of having their legal fees and Stamp Duty paid, saving them from a substantial expense.

With #HomesComfort, potential purchasers can discuss with the Higgins Homes team the ideal solution for their specific financial circumstances and needs. For example, it could be that a buyer has the deposit they need, but is worried about the cost of living when they first move in – #HomesComfort could provide the money to buy a Travelcard or even pay for six months of childcare to help working parents.

Alternatively, the new scheme could literally provide “comfort” in the shape of a furniture pack from contemporary brand BoConcept with a selection of Danish-inspired furniture, accessories and lighting. With many first-time buyers moving straight out of furnished rental accommodation, this option takes all the stress out of the move with a range of packages that have been carefully selected by interior designers to create a seamless style and beautiful spaces.

“Listening to buyers and understanding their worries was the catalyst for launching #HomesComfort,” explained Chris Johnston, head of new homes at Higgins Homes. “The campaign puts the buyer at the centre of the incentive process and is tailored to their specific needs. It may be that they want the financial offer of a 5% deposit top-up, or it could be any one of the other lifestyle options that we offer. The important message is that we will listen and respond to their individual requests.

“The #HomesComfort incentive helps home buyers with their budgeting – and not just for their property purchase but for life in their new home too. Knowing that their transport costs are covered for a certain period or not having to worry about additional childcare expenses will encourage more people to feel able to take their first step on to the ladder and provide a future that offers more stability.”

Regardless of the financial pathway that buyers choose, Higgins Homes’ flexible new incentive scheme will significantly lower their initial expenses, widening the accessibility of homeownership to a broader audience and making it easier to upsize.

The scheme is available at:

  • New Stratford Works – a collection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom duplexes starting from £492,500 moments from super-connected Stratford, Westfield Stratford City, and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
  • The Garratt Collection – two-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom houses from £700,000 in Earlsfield, in the leafy Borough of Wandsworth.
  • école – studio, one and two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom duplexes from £465,000 in the lively cultural and foodie location of Bermondsey.
