Hassle-Free Lifestyle for New Owners at Longhurst Park

Posted 5 November 2019 by Helen Christie

Rogan and Lesley decided to 'life-size' into a new home at Crest Nicholson's Longhurst Park development in Cranleigh in Surrey...

Rogan and Lesley were living in Guildford when they decided to make the move to the Longhurst Park, only 10 miles down the road.

The couple bought the Wordsworth five-bedroom house for £925,000 with Crest Nicholson covering the Stamp Duty. Although their new house was the same size as their old property, the couple chose to ‘life-size’ into a similar home to fit their retirement lifestyles. Modern features, close proximity to their favourite walking routes and low maintenance living were all key motivators for the recently retired couple.

Rogan explains: “We had been looking at various developments in Cranleigh and we discovered Longhurst Park’s location was unmatched”.

Lesley continues: “Since retiring we have more time to enjoy our favourite hobbies and living right next to the Downs Link walking trail and the town centre makes it fantastic for our recreation”.

Rogan and Lesley chose the five-bedroom Wordsworth styled house as they loved the additional space and versatility the extra rooms offered. Both agreed that having space for their daughter to visit as well as another guest room allowed them to play host to friends and family.

Lesley adds: “The thing that is so positive is the size, the amount of space we have, the light, it’s so much more than the other developments we looked at”.

Rogan and Lesley agreed that buying a new build was a way of “future proofing ourselves” against the cost of maintenance, allowing them to focus on their vocations. Lesley went on to say that there is “something very appealing about having a house that’s yours that nobody has lived in before, not only does it allow you to put your own stamp on the design it also means our ongoing maintenance costs are lower than our previous 1920s style house.”

Longhurst Park is nestled in the beautiful village of Cranleigh where one can enjoy a relaxed pace of life yet benefit from daily conveniences aplenty on the doorstep, including a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. The vibrant towns of Guildford, Godalming, Dorking and Horsham are all within easy reach and offer a more comprehensive selection of shops, eateries and the arts. The nearby towns of Guildford and Horsham offer excellent rail links into London and Gatwick Airport, taking just 39 minutes and 17 minutes respectively.

Prices at Longhurst Park for a two-bedroom house start at £399,950, while prices for a five-bedroom Wordsworth house start at £924,950.
