Moving to a new house during a pandemic sounds like quite the task at hand. But with the Help to Buy scheme, a dream move to a CALA home in Puckeridge was made all the easier for a young couple looking for a larger home.

Yearning for more space and size, Hannah Fox, 29, and partner Lewis, 28, fell in love with CALA’s Café Fields development, highlighting the design and layout of the homes as one of the most attractive qualities, along with the spacious drive and garage.

By using the Help to Buy scheme and reserving their home with just a 5% deposit, it was an easy decision for the couple to move a short 15-minute drive away from their abode in Hertford; and was perfect to accommodate Hannah’s job as a secondary school teacher nearby.

Hannah commented: “The first impressions of the Café Fields development and houses were fantastic. We were excited with the design and style of the homes.’’

The high specification of the homes immediately appealed to the couple. Moving in just before Christmas, Hannah and Lewis now feel they’ve settled well into the area and are looking forward to being able to explore Puckeridge and the surrounding villages and towns once lockdown ends.

Hannah said: “We were welcomed straightaway into the development by friendly neighbours who have made us feel more than at home. We’re a stone’s throw away from Standon and have lots of beautiful countryside walks nearby – hopefully soon we will be able to make a pit stop at one of the local pubs!”

Visiting the house twice before purchasing, it was made clear to the couple they would be moving to a thriving community, which is set within a picturesque area of Puckeridge and offers a relaxed lifestyle with a good range of local amenities, yet still providing easy access to both London and Cambridge.

Hannah added: “We were always looking to make the most of the Help to Buy scheme, as it helped with our affordability when looking for our beautiful new home. The CALA team went the extra mile every step of the way for us, to ensure the sales journey was as smooth as possible. And once we had moved in, we could not fault the aftercare that was provided; we’re delighted with how the process was handled.”

For those with a property to sell, CALA also offers its Part Exchange service, which means there is no need to go through the process of selling on the open market. The housebuilder acts as a cash buyer, saving on estate agents fees and providing peace of mind that your sale will complete ready for you to move into your new home.

Café Fields is a collection of 56 two- to five-bedroom homes with over 25% now been reserved. Prices currently start from £734,950. Find out more at www.cala.co.uk.
