A Norfolk couple are starting an exciting new chapter in their lives after buying a five-bedroom detached house to accommodate their growing family.

Rebecca and James Dougall upsized from their three-bedroom property in Norwich to a new home at the Bovis Homes Birch Gate location in Wymondham, just eight months after the birth of their baby twins Jacob and Lucie.

The couple, who both work as insurance analysts, moved into their new house at Birch Gate on Friday 6 May, along with their children and their two cats Baymax and Gizzy.

Rebecca, 36, said: “Once the pregnancy was confirmed we knew it was time to look for a bigger property. Following Covid, myself and my husband started working from home and needed our own office spaces. We still wanted the twins to have their own rooms, so more space was vital for us.

“We were drawn to the layout of the houses here compared to others we had previously seen. We eventually decided on the ‘Birch’ home. I loved the open-plan kitchen and diner which is ideal for family gatherings. Our previous home was an old build and started needing things done to it, so we liked the fact that this home was all ready to move in with no alterations needed.

“The location is also ideal; we are much closer to our families who also live in Wymondham and only a few streets from where I grew up, so it has a sense of familiarity. The home is also surrounded by plenty of open green space which makes for a very peaceful and private feel.”

Rebecca and James, 38, have seen one new neighbour move in since their arrival and already feel a strong sense of community in the area.

“We were so happy when we got the keys. With the arrival of the twins and moving to a new home this felt like we were starting a new chapter in our lives that we are so excited about. The twins are currently sharing a bedroom but we can’t wait for them to have their own rooms when they get a bit older. We have already seen schools around the area which we hope they will attend in the future.

“The team at Bovis Homes have been fantastic, especially April, Sharon and Simon who have provided great customer care to make our house buying process so much easier. I would definitely recommend Bovis Homes to others looking to buy new.”

Bovis Homes is part of the Vistry Group, which also includes Linden Homes and Vistry Partnerships. Vistry will be launching a new collection of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes under the Bovis Homes brand at Birch Gate this autumn. Find out more at bovishomes.co.uk.
