Berkeley Homes launches one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments at Huntley Wharf in Reading...

On Thursday 30 July, Berkeley Homes launches Huntley Wharf, a collection of 765 high-specification apartments in Reading town centre, just a 10-minute walk from the station.

Huntley Wharf features a distinctive collection of designs and layouts, broadening the style and range of properties currently available to buy in Reading. As well as traditional-style one- and two-bedroom apartments, there are also larger two bedroom properties with a main bathroom, en suite and a bonus study, along with a number of generously proportioned three-bedroom duplex apartments.

These new homes are in a south-facing riverside setting on Kenavon Drive, overlooking the River Kennet, with many having a balcony or terrace to maximise the river views. They will be enhanced by a host of proposed amenities including a riverside restaurant, coffee shop, convenience store, day nursery, concierge, gym and co-working studio.

The new show apartment will demonstrate the range of features buyers can expect as standard as well as a chance for potential purchasers to see how they can personalise their kitchen and bathrooms in a choice of colour palettes; The kitchens also come complete with stone worktops and a range of integrated Bosch appliances. Bathrooms feature glazed crackle-effect feature tiles laid in a traditional ‘Flemish’ bond effect to selected walls, complemented by stylish chrome mixer taps with industrial knurling detail. Contemporary matt black feature accents include back to wall WCs with matt black dual flush plates and black framed glass shower doors.

Spacious bedrooms come fully carpeted, with master bedrooms enhanced by soft grey Shaker-style wardrobe doors with chrome handles. Karndean timber-effect flooring features in the kitchen, dining, living area and hallway.

Huntley WharfHuntley Wharf is built on the former site of the world-renowned biscuit manufacturers Huntley and Palmers factory, which led to Reading becoming known as the ‘Biscuit Town’. PRP, the architects who worked on this development, have sought to develop a design that celebrates the site's industrial past in a contemporary way. Brick detailing, cladding, materials, balconies and roof lines have all been carefully considered.

Benjamin Ivey, sales and marketing director of Berkeley Homes Oxford & Chiltern, commented: “Reading has so much to offer residents, employers and investors alike: the UK’s largest tech cluster; excellent employment opportunities with the highest wages in the UK outside of London; superb transport connections; outstanding education; to name but a few. Huntley Wharf presents an excellent proposition for both investors and owner occupiers keen to secure a new home in this thriving town.”

Prices from £307,500 and the sales and marketing suite is open daily by appointment.
