Dorset Move For Dad And Daughter
Daniel Daley, 42, moved 150 miles from Essex to Dorset last year and has been renting a home in Poole with his daughter, Gabriella, 6, who lives with him part-time.
With the father-of-one keen to purchase a property in the area he loved as a child, it wasn’t long before he came across the WhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilder’s Quarter Jack Park.
Daniel says: “I spent many weekends on the Bournemouth coast when I was growing up, and having moved down from Essex a year ago, it’s great to see my daughter now doing the same. With lots of family and friends in the area, I wanted to find a permanent home for me and Gabriella. I spotted Barratt’s Quarter Jack Park, and I knew it would be perfect for us. It’s close to where I work and where Gabriella goes to school, in Poole, and the market town of Wimborne is lovely.”
The housebuilder’s development in the traditional town with its selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, and easy access to Bournemouth and Poole, won Daniel over. He reserved a three-bedroom property in the new community with no delay, and it was down to his excited six-year-old daughter to ‘seal the deal’ with the all-important sold sticker.
Daniel adds: “With Gabriella excited about the move, Barratt asked if she’d like to make our purchase official – she loved the sold stickering responsibility!”

And, with a second double bedroom included for his daughter to make her own, it was the Moresby style of property that Daniel has chosen. The three-bedroom home comes with a bright and airy lounge and a modern kitchen with dining space and French doors to the garden on the ground floor, along with a cloakroom and handy storage space in the hallway. Upstairs, there’s an en suite main bedroom, one further double bedroom, one single bedroom and a family bathroom.
Daniel and Gabriella are now awaiting their move-in date, which will be happening later in the year.
He adds: “Our home will be ready to move into in November and we can’t wait. We’ve been watching the build and Gabriella is already deciding on colour schemes for her brand new bedroom. I’m also looking forward to spending more time on the coast with our family and friends.”
Tammy Bishop, Barratt Homes sales director, Southampton Division, is thrilled that Quarter Jack Park has become the home for Daniel and Gabriella.
She says: “With its acres of open space and countryside and coast within easy reach, Quarter Jack Park is a beautiful place to call home. I can see why Daniel made the decision to move here. It was great to invite him and Gabriella to the site to make their purchase official and I wish them both all the best for their move.”
Barratt Homes Quarter Jack Park is collection of homes in the Dorset town of Wimborne. There are excellent links to Bournemouth, Poole and Southampton, and there are many local nurseries and schools close by to choose from.
