New Phase Launched At Oadby Development
The first homes in the exclusive second phase of Ashberry Homes’ Horwood Gardens development in Oadby are now on sale, and the first property is already reserved.
This new phase at Horwood Gardens is a collection of just 26 new homes and is located next to Stoughton Grange rural centre, on the opposite side of Gartree Road to the main Horwood Gardens development.
Ashberry Homes started work on the three-, four- and five-bedroom houses in phase two earlier this year.
In total, Ashberry Homes is building 117 properties at the scheme. The first phase is well advanced and it features 45 homes for private sale and all of the scheme’s 46 affordable homes for rent or Shared Ownership.
Angela Nurse, head of sales for Ashberry Homes, says: “Horwood Gardens has proved to be extremely popular, and we anticipate that this new and exclusive private section of the development will generate even further interest from homebuyers. In fact, we’ve already sold the first property, one of the three five-bedroom Crocus house types being built within this phase, which I think is a measure of both the demand for good housing in the Leicester area and the high quality we are offering here.”

Horwood Gardens was named in honour of the first curator of the University of Leicester’s Botanic Garden, Arthur Horwood. It is part of a wider 310-home project which is generating more than £987,000 towards services and infrastructure as part of the planning agreement. This includes money for bus passes, healthcare, and education as well as contributions to library services, allotments, and Coombe Park pavilion.
There is currently a choice of three- and four-bedroom homes within phase two available to reserve, with prices starting from £349,995.
There are also eight three- and four-bedroom homes remaining for sale with phase one, with prices starting from £379,995.
