Keith OsborneLuxe by Andrew Henry Interiors' design team has unveiled have unveiled a new high-end show apartment design for family-owned property developers, Woodcock Brothers, at Woodcock House, located in the heart of Wimbledon Village.
The Georgian-style building is set within a cobbled mews and has been restored and converted into just seven luxury apartments. Two reservations have already been confirmed since the recent launch, including the stunning show apartment.
The impressive three-bedroom, ground floor apartment is expected to attract purchasers looking for a home or an investment in the sought-after SW19 postcode. Lead designer on the project, Paul Garland, commented: “This luxury scheme has a clear audience. With the neighbourhood's well-known prestigious tennis tournament, popular high street and affluent clientele, classic style and ultimate opulence colour this project. We've filled the rooms with impressive individual pieces and specially commissioned art to shape a cohesive scheme that maximises the building's prime position.
“For the overarching look of the home, we've chosen a neutral colour scheme with luxurious brass accessories and a hint of black to draw on both contemporary and traditional themes. Complementing the premium specification and finish of the home, a focus on cleanliness and crispness was at the forefront of the design. We've incorporated minimalistic styling items such as bespoke media unit in the living room which provides a striking centre-point for the space whilst optimising storage for a clutter-free lifestyle. This has been balanced with oversized lamps and luxurious fabrics to create timeless elegance.
“The apartment enjoys its own separate entrance and this alone set the scene of the exclusiveness that this property brings to its owner. Internally, we introduced smoked mirror cladding to wrap a structural column to disguise its structural-purpose and transform it into a unique artistic addition to the space. Mirrors encourage the light in from the big windows and it bounces off every corner of the open-plan room. We set the dining space to seat six and used a wenge dining table and taupe satin dining chairs to create a sophisticated impression. The feature light fitting from Dowsing and Reynolds is a true statement, somewhere the resident would enjoy using as an entertainment space.”
The design team also used a range of bespoke pieces from Thread & Dandy and installed them to match the structure of the room. Paul Garland added: “In the main bedroom, we installed wall-to-wall, double-layered window treatments, to create a comforting, warm ambience and a talking point in the daytime when they are fully pulled back. We opted for a range of voiles and wave-headed curtains and elevated the treatment with interlining and on the leading edge enhanced the treatment with luxury trims. We also softened the polished look of the home with bespoke cushions. Although we placed these meticulously, they give a relaxed impression and a lived-in feel to visitors.”
Garry Woodcock at Woodcock Brothers said: “With such a carefully considered approach, the show apartment at Woodcock House is stunning. The design team at Luxe by AHI has seamlessly incorporated luxurious elements alongside warm and welcoming pieces to create an unforgettable feeling of home. The apartment also perfectly showcases the lifestyle opportunity that living here will offer its fortunate residents.”
